Reviews of Village Academy School on the Art and Sara Jo Kobacker Campus
"Went to an open house and they seem to have many things to offer. I can appreciate the small class room sizes, college bound and Avid program like other schools. I am not a fan of school lunch at any school so taking lunch is always an option there. I don't know what makes the school bad as there is not much elaboration except for some comments about the teachers, but I hear that about many schools. If its not the teachers then its the students. Community school deserves community help. Do you know if many people in the community volunteer to help support and encourage the efforts of the school? I was brought up that it takes a Village."
"This school is not a good school, it's so small with no programs/activities and it's very lame / dirty. The teacher are ok I had some good teachers that taught me a lot of things . Village academy middle/ high doesn't have a lot of kids it's hard to make friends. They need to get more janitors cause the stairs stank and there was a hunny bun that stayed there for a week. The basketball team is trash , they never won a game . They don't even have a field to run track to play football like others schools do . And there were only 12 students that graduated likeeee v.a should turn in to private school at this point. V.a middle/high not a good to school to go too."
"I personally think that village academy is a great school! Village academy gives u many opportunities like any other school village academy should be your choice"
"Terrible school. Do not recommend to anyone. My 3 kids ages 4,3&2 got accepted into their head start program for the 16-17 school year. This is the worse school EVER. So unprofessional! Teachers don't care about the kids they worry about the parents personal lives and who they're having sex with instead of teaching the little ones. They called Department of children and families on me twice from my kids having a scratch, yes a freaking scratch. They didn't see any suspicious of abuse or neglect. My toddlers play outside all day everyday they run around and they fall and scratch their selves up like normal kids. It was protocol the case Worker simply told me she felt as if it was a case of jealously and threw the case out just like that, that fast. I immediately took my daughter out of that class. After I was peeking in the classroom door one day (picking her up early) and noticed ms Muhamed pushing my daughter's chair into her desk so hard. She didn't know I was watching. I Placed her in another class than that teacher harassed me every single day about paperwork in my other kids classes. As if they didn't have teachers of their own. The staff in the front office are so unprofessional they never say hello good morning and they never talk to you about meetings or what's going on they leave the parents clueless. My 2 year old son (was 1 when he started) broke out all over his body (completely) they wouldn't allow him back in school (I kept him out).. They ask you to bring your own towels (for nap) , sippy cups and bibs. Come to find out they were using old stuff from the previous school year on my baby (not his brand new things I brought from home like I asked). I noticed one day the teacher trying to put a school bib on my son he kept snatching it off and she kept forcing it on him. I went over to assist her and the bib had a foul rotten smell. I see why my son kept snatching it off. they had the kids sharing the same cups (without being sterilized) ms Williams told me she took all the kids stuff home every weekend to her personal home and washed their stuff with her personal detergent and her personal washing machine. I called the school district and made multiple complaints. I asked her not to ever take my son stuff to her house and send it home with me every single Friday and to make sure my son uses only his stuff not the school stuff and no other kids stuff. No telling what she has at her house that could've caused my son to break out like he did. He was on antibiotics for a week it cleared and he didn't have that problem again. There were girls in his class that would have snot bubbles coming out of there nose and the teachers would look at them in disgust instead of wiping it and cleaning the child. The teachers seemed so aggravated with those infants. I was scared everyday to leave my son thinking they would hurt him. I never had a problem out of my 4 year old teachers. If you are taking your kids to this school. I highly recommend ms Campbell class. Classroom I... great teachers in that class and taught my daughter a whole throughout the year. My kids missed a lot of days from how that school was set up. Disgusting teachers and staff."
