Bono's Pit Bar-B-Q

"It’s pretty hard to mess up slow and smoked meats. I say it isn’t hard because Bono’s make it seem effortless. If I could make meat like that I would become a VERY REVERSED VEGETARIAN, I would ONLY eat the meat LOL. But seriously they make the best Turkey, Beef and Chicken! And they’re garlic toast! The staff is always so friendly as well. I just wish they hadn’t canceled the cinnamon butter. That was my go-to there and now it’s just sad to order and mix in “Country Crock”. But that’s not a big deal I guess. I’ve taken to getting the sweet potato home, even if I ate in the restaurant so that I can make my own cinnamon butter. It is a good in between snack and rich in nutrients. But do not microwave it, you kill the nutrients that way. 350 for 15 minutes while you make the butter! Ta-DA!"

"This is the best Bono’s! I have been eating at this Fruit Cove location for probably 20 years. The staff is always friendly and does a great job. The food is always yummy and fresh. We really love to order curbside from them. It’s always a nice dinner treat!"

"First time I have been in Bono's Fruit Cove and it felt like real home style restaurant! It was comfortable and the server had a fantastic smile which made ordering a pleasure. I was tired from running errands and I pointed to the brisket sandwich with the fried green tomato an the young took it from there. I will be going back to Fruit Cove again!"

"We live in St. Johns and normally drive the 30 extra minutes to go to another Bono’s location to avoid this one but since we had a long day we figured to give this location another try since it’s so close to us. When we received our order my bf took one bite and realized his pork was dry, I also tried it and agreed. My bf told the waiter which responded with that he didn’t know what to do so he’d let someone else know. The manager came to our table and it was the same thing….he offered my bf another pork sandwich so my bf asked if the pork would also be dry and the manager said “he didn’t know” and offered if he can bring him chicken instead. We ended up asking for a refund and can hear the employees talking about us behind the counter. The woman at the front didn’t make eye contact with us as she was giving us the receipt, I simply thanked her and she didn’t say a word. We didn’t create a scene and just simply wanted what we were paying for. We ended up driving to the other Bonos location in Neptune Beach and the food was delicious and the staff was friendly like always. Unfortunately, we won’t be visiting this Bono’s again anytime soon."
