Reviews of Diamond View Elementary
"Terrible and I mean TERRIBlE school. Dr. Ellison is the WORST excuse for a guidance counselor, for starters. My son started off the school year with a teacher who is constantly under the influence of drugs, or alcohol. After months and months of going back and forth with the principal, vice principal, and other staff members they finally let her go. My son is constantly terrorized by one particular student and nothing is ever done. The school contacts me for littlest things but fail to call me when my son is attacked, hit, bullied, or when he's reported the same student repetitively stealing from his backpack and lunchbox. Spend the extra money and put your kids in private school, or enroll them in a charter school heck even enroll them in the other Elementary School down the street avoid this school at all costs!!!!!"
"I find the teachers to be of exceptionally high quality as well as the principal (Mrs. Seal) assistant principal (Ms. Diaz I think?) , and administrative staff in the office... they've always been friendly, polite, easily accessible and obviously concerned with the student's welfare. As other reviewers have commented the students are another thing entirely - but I didn't let this detract from my 5 star rating of the school. My son was bullied in second grade and it took some time for the staff to resolve the situation but .... quite honestly from what I've seen there are so many so-called "parents" who take absolutely no interest in their children whose children attend Diamond View the staff, to put it mildly, has their hands full. And from what I understand that is pretty much the situation at a number of public schools here in the Palm Beach (Florida) area ... look at it this way, Congress Middle School in Boynton Beach was temporarily shut down after a BULLET was found in the school this past year (February 2015) ... It's a horrible situation that the staff is doing there absolute best to deal with as far as I can see but... you have a lot of (I hate to say it) really troubled children going there who make life.. challenging... for the teachers. But I wouldn't be surprised to see the exact same problem at other public schools you might be considering sending your kids to instead ... again, not a lot of parents out there who are interested in being.. well, parents.... and the behavior of their children reflects this. So you might as well send your kids to a school like Diamond View where the staff at least cares and is doing their best to deal with a rather difficult situation. And no, I'm not a member of the P.T.O. at Diamond View nor do I have any other "ties" with the school, I'm not an employee of the school either or anything along those lines. This is just my honest, subjective opinion on the school itself. Spend time with your children, as much as you can, that goes without saying but you'd be surprised how few people do it. Ask them how their day went, be alert for any signs of them being upset or anything else being "off" then be prepared to work hard at coaxing the truth out of them (which will be difficult, the social bias against kids who "tattle" is still alive and well in the classroom among students unfortunately just as it was when we were young) ... then contact your teacher, and if you feel it's warranted the principal or assistant principal. Based on my experience they will get back to you promptly and do their absolute best to remedy the situation. I was also pleased with the number of "involve the parents" activities the school held.. it's obvious that they really love the kids and their efforts and behavior reflects that."
"This school is the best but the kids are very bad but we still love them because we care about them"
"I go to this school its good to be there but most kids don't pass because of there teachers"
"Diamond View for some reason allwos the children to physically abuse each other without any repercussion. My son was kicked and hit also verbally abused by other students. When i say something about it to the front office they looked at me like i was bothering them!!!!!! I dont give this school a good rating!!! They dont resolve any conflicts that might occur between the children! Instead they think it is ok for the kids to hit and punch and kick each other without any resolution to the matter!! I would not trust the ratings of Palmbeach School Districts either!!! Also the staff and some of the children think it is ok to verbally abuse the children with no resolution!!!! Really really really!!! They are supposed to be a A rated school!"
