"I have worked here for years and have always seen the professionalism in all the employees. Everyone is always willing to go above and beyond to help the students, families, and just anyone who comes seeking help. If they do not have the resources they always have recommendations and help people get connected with the right resources that are needed. Since 2019 my greatest blessing was born and he started the daycare and since then he has been in the daycare and all teachers that work with him are so loving, patient, caring, and such great communicators. My son is developing his own personality so he can be challenging from time to time and they always find ways to redirect him and when they cannot they let me know. No one is perfect but I love that everyone is willing to admit there mistakes and grow from it so that the best education and environment is being offered to the students and families. Truly grateful for this place."
"I am so grateful for this school! I can take my children to school and leave in peace knowing they’ll be safe, they’re going to learn! They leave with so much confidence! The staff and so caring, uplifting, they have had so much patience even all through the pandemic! Love PHA! Love the daycare! My boys have gone through a lot of trauma... started the year with behavior problems, trouble expressing themselves. Now my boys communicate, they’ve stopped biting! We just needed a staff that was willing to stick it out with them, not give up on them, and always seeking more solutions to help my children!"
"My two daughters attend Potter's House Academy . I am also a staff member but in the preschool side and i am thankful for the teachers my girls have. Mrs. Mateo has been an amazing teacher not only does she just education but they also makes sure my daughters emotional needs are cared for as well. My girls come back talking about their day and all they learned. I am so grateful for a school that teaches my kids the word of God and education. My Oldest daughter is learning music and she has been playing drums, guitar, and flute. My second daughter is in soccer and she loves it. Thank you Potters House Academy"
"First of all, this a great school. I have nothing but nice things to say about the staff and teachers. We enrolled our son here for kindergarten when the public school we were zoned for failed to impress us. Our child was labeled the “problem child” in the class. The last straw was receiving a report card that showed he was underperforming in several areas. It stated that he didn’t know 1-100. We had him count to 100 ourselves and he did just fine. We quizzed him on the other areas he was assessed and he seemed to know a lot more than his report card indicated. He always seems to be getting in trouble in the classroom, which wasn’t typical for him either. I mean he’s not a complete angel, he was only a 5 year old boy. We took him out of that elementary school and brought him to potters house where he was received so warmly by all his teachers ever since. They took the extra time out of there day to make him feel welcome and happy when he was obviously sad leaving behind his old school. They helped to get him caught up with his new peers as well! My only “constructive criticism”, and the reason I rated 4 out of 5 stars, is that there has got to be more communication with the parents about school activities and functions. Other than a couple of stage drama shows, and holiday plays, there are very few opportunities for parents to get involved in the classroom, and on field trips. I was told parents need to get background checked, but no one could tell me where to get this done. With public school they tell you exactly what to do. On site activities are mentioned, but is seems parents are not explicitly invited to attend. Example: a recent field day for students. Parents were told to send the their child to school in comfortable clothing, with water and sunscreen. However there was no mention to parents about coming out and taking part in the activities. There was no time frame given for when the class would be out playing activities. This would have been an awesome time to have the parents come out and join the fun and take photos of their kids and heir friends. All in all, our child has definitely flourished at this school, and I love that he loves coming here! I just hope in the future there is a more professional and detailed communication system of connecting with the parents. As caring parents we want to be more involved with our child, and to do that we need more than the bare minimum of information."
"I have all 4 of my girls in the preschool/academy for the last 2 years and I am completely satisfied. They are not perfect but they don't pretend to be. They have been very honest, forthcoming, caring and loving toward my girls. They have hired new Teachers in the past year and I have seen the care, attention and communication steadily improve. The preschool/academy is always looking for ways to improve and have a new sense of commitment to excellence."
