"My daugther loves the school. They are on top of the student academic situation and help them as necessary with tuitons and material. Extender day program is wonderfull. Great experience in general!"
"I experienced rude staff working in the administrative office. They were rude to my child and scolded him for simply touching the pen on the counter. Then continuously referred to him as a female despite my correcting them repeatedly. Upon trying to register him I was lied to about Orange County School policies (this is not the first time he has been registered at an orange County Public school and I was literally holding the packet detailing what is required). I was lied to and told that my son should have just continued the school year at his elementary school that he just came from. I know it is an option if you request a waiver, but what I was told by staff at Orange Center is that he should not be transferring until the next school year. I just moved over 20 minutes away from his other school, so I did not want the waiver to keep him there (and I know it is not required). Then they refused to process his registration or talk to me further because "registration was closed". I had previously filed out the entire packet and brought all necessary documents. All that needed to be done was to tell me who his teacher is and where the class is. I was at a different OCPS school not 5 minutes earlier and they were willing to get him registered (turns out we are slightly in outside their zone, and thus in OC zone). Last but not least the staff member looking through my registration packet argued with me about my choice to decline the medicaid screening and treatment for vision and dental. I let her know I have my own doctors, dentists, and health insurance. She still tried to convince me to allow the screenings and treatments. It was very disrespectful and done so in a tactless manner. Also, there were no parking spaces available for the front office. Leaving street parking that is not permitted during camping stadium events. It is a poorly thoughtout layout. If you are curious about the neighborhood. I drove around and most of the neighboring houses have barred windows and people from downtown wondering about. The school is completely gated though. This school is very close to downtown and traffic in the area is atrocious at times."
"Love the fact that they still do the pledge every morning and always willing to help my son when he needs it."
