The Pier FV

"When we arrived, there was a hostess stand outside with the menu posted. The prices were reasonable and the choices were good. We were told the wait would be 30 mins. The place was packed. We decided to wait. It was a 90th birthday celebration for my uncle. Some chairs were available at the bar so we grabbed some seats and some bar patrons offered to move over so we could sit together at the bar. When they found it my uncles 90th the customers bought him a drink. It made his night. We were sat about the time quoted. Luis R was our waiter. He was terrific and made the night really fun. He knew the menu well and gave mouth-watering descriptions of the menu items. He was efficient and smiling and funny. I couldn't have wish the night to go any better and then Luis R brought my uncle another drink a different customer bought for him. My uncle was grinning ear to ear. We all had a wonderful night with delicious food. We definitely will return."

"The Pier is one of - if not, my favorite spot in Punta gorda. The Pier is in an excellent location and always has an exquisite menu with fair pricing. The service is typically great. Id recommend eating outside more than inside any day, especially during golden hour. The ambience around 5:00-6:00PM is amazing, seeing the sunset, eating sushi, and drinking your favorite beverage. What more could you ask for?"

"AWFUL food, very slow service. We went there tonight for dinner and were so disappointed. We had to constantly flag down the server to order food. Once we did order, it took almost an hour to receive our dishes. All that time waiting and what we got was literally worse than microwave frozen dinners. I ordered the fried grouper sandwich and you can tell it’s frozen fish - it was disgusting. The “house chips” it comes with are exactly the grocery store chips in a bag. My husband and the rest of the table ordered their island chicken dish that was rotisserie chicken slathered in what tasted like a bottle of teriyaki sauce off the grocery store shelf. Worst dining experience and food I’ve had in many years. Avoid!"
