Walt's Fish Market Restaurant

"Walt's had me at "delicious." While the hour-long wait from our 6:30PM arrival tested our patience, the moment we dug into our food, any frustration melted away. Let me tell you, this wasn't just any meal; it was a culinary adventure. First things first, the appetizers. We opted for a trio of Peel and Eat Shrimp, Lobster Bites, and Hush Puppies. The shrimp were plump and juicy, the lobster bites were decadent little pockets of seafood heaven, but the clear winner was the Hush Puppies. These golden pillows of fried dough were light, fluffy, and had a hint of sweetness that perfectly balanced their savory exterior. They were, hands down, the best Hush Puppies I've ever had. Now, onto the main event. The Captain's Platter was a symphony of seafood flavors. The red snapper filet was flaky and perfectly cooked, the lobster tail was sweet and tender, and the sea scallops were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The accompanying garlic mashed potatoes were creamy and comforting, and the julienne-cut vegetables added a fresh, vibrant touch. It was a truly satisfying and beautifully presented dish. The Kabob Combo was equally impressive. The grouper filet, jumbo shrimp, and sea scallops were all perfectly char-grilled, retaining their natural sweetness while gaining a smoky depth of flavor from the grill. The garlic butter brushstrokes added a subtle richness, and the risotto was cooked to creamy perfection. Each bite was a delightful combination of textures and flavors. While the wait for a table was long, the attentive service, vibrant atmosphere, and, most importantly, the incredible food made it more than worth it. Walt's is a restaurant that deserves its hype. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience with delicious seafood dishes, this is the place to be. Just be sure to factor in the wait time and make a reservation!"

"This fish restaurant is very popular, so my review is not really necessary. Because I love to eat here very often, I have to share my repeated great experiences. One of my favorite dishes is the CHAR-GRILLED PLATE, with juicy grouper filet, jumbo shrimp & delicious sea scallops, brushed with garlic butter, then char-grilled to perfection. My choice of two sides (see pictures) were coleslaw and onion rings for an extra three dollars. The portions are big, the service very friendly and fast, the dishes served hot, in an atmosphere that's relaxed and just great if you don’t need a fancy environment. You can sit inside or outside. Inside the restaurant they sell fresh fish at their own fish market. My husband and I could eat here every day. We can strongly recommend this fish restaurant."

"Very busy but a fairly short wait time. Oscar catch of the day (red snapper) was terrific. Girl friend had stone crab and loved it. The whole meal and service were excellent"

"Parking is a little tight, so you may want to come before their dinner rush. Best seafood I’ve had in Sarasota area! Everything was fresh and oh so good. Can’t wait to take my family here when they come down. Normally when you order a scallop dish you get 3 and they call that a meal. We walked out of here full with big smiles on our faces."

"This place was off the hook!! If you want a great seafood place to eat this is the spot. Visiting from OH and so glad we stopped here. Grouper Reuben was amazing, Snow Crab Legs were cooked perfectly. Hush Puppies were very good also. Great family history with this restaurant also. Server was very friendly and filled our drinks without asking. If you are in the area you must stop here!! They also have a fresh seafood market onsite."
