"A Tampa icon. An iconic looking building that says BBQ. Sooty chimney, stacks of oak and a fire pit emitting oaky smoke. It felt really good to return to Jazzy's. It's been way too long. Living an hour away, we don't get the chance to hang out in the area much. This weekend found me within slurping distance, so I made sure to land there for dinner. (Close to the airport and water. Well, Waters Ave) LOL It seems like I'm ALWAYS craving ribs. Anytime I smell oaky smoke, I'm thinking ribs. Anytime I smell BBQ sauce, I'm thinking ribs. Anytime I smell anything BBQ, I'm thinking RIBS! That's how I roll. Naturally then, I ordered RIBS. I got the Large Rib plate. Of course. I chose Potato Salad and BBQ Beans as my two sides. The sides were on point and what I expected. Nothing makes your mouth water more than having a stack o' meaty, juicy ribs placed in front of you. I'm fighting that mouthwatering feeling right now! Dang. Service is friendly and the food comes out fast! Ohhhh man! Did those ribs look good! Plenty of them. Plenty of meat ON them. With a nice crispy bark on the outside. Yessss! I happen to intensely love the BBQ sauce. The owner, Johnny Ray came up with the recipe years ago, in a God given dream. (As I found out later that night) That sauce is some mighty Heavenly stuff. The ribs make it so easy to sop up that sauce. And slurp slurp slurp away at all the flavors exploding around you. Ain't no dainty way to eat ribs. Pick 'em up. Two hands. Go for it. Ain't no way you wanna waste any of that perfectly cooked meat, either. Sop 'em in that awesome sauce and gobble 'em up. I am SOOOOO glad I got the chance to stop in and rib out. I am also VERY glad there was another icon in it, for me. I finally met Mister Johnny Ray Smith. He was sorting through the oak firewood out back as I was leaving. I was compelled to walk over and chat with him. Almost an hour later, we parted ways. I was full. Of incredible food and a good feeling from a new friend."

"What a find, great BBQ and sides. Had the sausage, finally really smoke sausage, real smoke flavor and not liquid smoke. This is the real deal. Don't walk, run here for your next BBQ fix."

"I use to come here a lot 5 years ago when I worked near by. Today I was in the mood for BBQ and came to the only place I knew served the best in town. Let’s saw about changes and will not be returning as it seems many customers have the same concern so this is a constant thing now. My BBQ chicken came out warm and not hot. The chicken was dry and tasted like it was reheated. I knows the taste of fresh bbq and this does not seems it was made today. I was really craving some tasty, tender, spicy BBQ but I left utterly dissatisfied and disappointed. I do hope the owners come back and reassess the operations and ensure the recipe is strictly enforced and ensure it’s not diluted. On the way out I decided to get a sweet potato pie and it was AMAZING!!!! Best sweet potato pie I had in years!"

"This place has gone down hill. I order a large rib dinner and the ribs were tuff and hard on top. My Mac and cheese was the worse Mac and cheese I’ve ever had period and it used to be so good! So I went ahead an ordered Mac and cheese from chik fil an and it was a much better option. I tried jazzys potato salad instead to replace the Mac and cheese and it was gross too. You would also think if you order a large meal the sides would be larger and they are super small! I ordered bbq sauce on the side for my LARGE meal and they gave me a 2 oz cup of sauce? Please don’t go here! I didn’t like the food a few months ago but decided to give them one more try just in case and I feel robbed of my money and a good meal. You guys really need to take a step back and really get in that kitchen and get back to what you used to be YEARS ago. It’s not fair to your customers. Anyone still loving the food must like mediocre food and I’m so sorry if that sounds harsh but it’s the hard truth."
