Reviews of Deviled Pig & Deviled Pig Catering
"Deviled Pig in Tampa is a hidden gem that packs a punch of flavor and fun. The quirky decor and lively atmosphere set the stage for a laid-back dining experience with a Southern twist. Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the "Devilish Mac n' Cheese Loaded with Pulled Pork." It's comfort food with a spicy kick that satisfies all your cravings in one glorious bowl. This dish is a flavor explosion that will have you planning your next visit before you even finish. But it's not just about the food. The drink menu is a delightful journey, and my personal favorite is the "Spicy Piglet Margarita." It's a perfect balance of heat and sweet, complementing the bold flavors of the dishes. The staff at Deviled Pig adds to the charm, creating a welcoming vibe that makes you feel like you're dining with friends. For a devilishly good time and unforgettable flavors, Deviled Pig is the place to be in Tampa. It's not just a meal; it's a culinary adventure with a side of Southern sass."
"Overall, the food is okay. The food tastes better than it looks - both in presentation and plating. The menu is all over the place and doesn't flow; suggest one side be meats on top and sides below. Other side should be platters and specials. The star of the show (meats) are buried in the middle on the right hand side under "butchery" below the "originals". The sauce/spices overwhelmed the meat - but it wasn't a deal breaker. The seating is next to the window which radiates heat and the TV looked like it was a used TV as it had 2 grey bars running north/south. The drink selection is limited to bottled Coke, Fanta, and another 1 or 2 that was easily forgotten in the refrigerator. I think they had tea as well. The turkey was dry. The brisket was the thinnest sliced brisket I've ever seen (almost sandwich style). The chicken was good but overly seasoned. The ribs fell off the bone but wasn't overly impressive. The sausage was cut thin as well - might as well just call them chips. I wouldn't be surprised if this place closes down in the next year or so."
"I stopped here for lunch and the experience was pretty disappointing. We ordered a platter and a sandwich. The sandwich was okay - definitely better than the platter but nothing extraordinary. The jalapeño mac and cheese was not fresh at all. The “crispy” jalapeño on top was stale and had a weird aftertaste while the cheese sauce was thick, dry, and clumpy. The burnt ends on the platter had almost no char on them and they were essentially flavorless. The sausage, beans, and BBQ sauce were fine. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this place."
"While driving down Dale Mabry, I stumbled upon this little gem of a place. True to its unassuming charm, the atmosphere at this hole-in-the-wall eatery matched my expectations. Opting for a half rack of ribs accompanied by a side of flavorful beans and tantalizing fried jalapeno mac and cheese, I was pleasantly surprised when my order arrived promptly. The ribs exceeded my expectations, effortlessly falling off the bone with each savory bite, while the beans proved equally delectable. However, I encountered a minor setback with the jalapeno mac and cheese, as it arrived cold. It's worth noting that their BBQ sauce leaned towards an intense sweetness, catering to those with a penchant for such flavors. Despite this small hiccup, I found myself already planning my return solely for those mouthwatering ribs."
"This place is fantastic! They explained the menu and choices since this was our first time. They have fantastic food and the sauces are amazing! We were welcomed so warmly and they let us put the only tables together they had. We tried all their desserts and the smores pizza is AMAZING! TRY IT, YOU WONT REGRET IT! The fried bologna was good, pork, chicken, ribs....can't go wrong with any of it. Just good food all around. Their freedom fries....um, wow! Great to just sit and eat with friends or as meal by yourself. Try everything because it's amazing!"
