Fortu

"Fortu was underwhelming and not a place we ever intend to go back to. I had been awaiting their opening for some time and saved it for a special occasion. The reservation was made a week in advance, but based on the table we were sat at, I believe it should be made at minimum 2 weeks ahead. The prices for the tapas style cuisine although expected to be high, we were left short. We ordered a nice variety for the table: a5 strip steak, miso cod, prime filet, rice, salmon, lamb, tuna tacos, burrata, pork belly, rock shrimp, martini, gin milk drink, coconut flan style, and cherry pistachio mousse cake (Not all are pictured). Most of the food was extremely salty, and had to be washed down with lots of water that was not refilled timely. Most items also had quite a kick of spice to them when we were advised it did not. I did not intentionally taste any of the food items that clearly had spice. I happen to be sensitive to spice so we made it imperative to always ask ahead. And unfortunately I was left extremely ill after. Luckily, it was only me sick not the other 4 at the table. The final cherry mousse cake was frozen, which I did not expect nor was advised it would be. So it was not at all easy to get pieces to eat with just a fork. We are fans of fine dining, or high end, and really appreciate a nice restaurant. Between Saint Pete and Tampa, there are so many great, better options, there is no reason to return to Fortu for us. It was definitely a full house for a Tuesday night, but it just did not work for us."

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Fortu, a Michelin-worthy restaurant, and it was an absolute delight. ⭐️ As a fan of sharing style restaurants, Fortu exceeded all expectations. We started with couple of appetizers, including freshest Oysters, Beef Tartare, Tuna Wonton Tacos, Pan Seared Gyoza, and Crispy Rock Shrimp, all bursting with flavor, freshness and complexity. For the main course, the Wagyu Short Ribs were so juicy and flavorful, while the Australian Wagyu Ribeye left us speechless with its tenderness and depth of flavor, the highlight of the evening was the Japanese Wagyu Beef, A5 pairing of Strip and Tenderloin that quite literally MELTED in our mouth. You need to try it! Best steak I have ever tried. The sides, particularly the sweet potato, were exceptional complements to the main dishes. Overall, with its culinary offerings, amazing service, and charming ambiance, Fortu has rightfully earned its place as The best restaurant in Saint Petersburg. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience and AMAZING FOOD!"

"Our evening at Fortu in downtown St. Pete was an absolutely amazing experience, deserving nothing less than a resounding five-star review. This place is a treasure for anyone who appreciates exquisite food and drinks. Firstly, the cocktails were simply delicious. Each drink was a unique blend of flavors, masterfully crafted and presented. Lucy, the bartender, truly went above and beyond in her service. Her expertise, coupled with her friendly demeanor, made our experience at the bar memorable. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and had a knack for suggesting the perfect drink! The Asian tapas were, without exaggeration, some of the best we've ever had. The menu offered a delightful variety of flavors and textures. It was evident that every item was prepared with care and an eye for detail. A special mention must go to Chef Daniel, whose culinary skills were on full display. He made our evening exceptionally special with his outstanding creations. His passion for his craft shone through in every bite, and his ability to elevate simple ingredients into extraordinary dishes was truly remarkable. We left Fortu feeling utterly satisfied and already excited for our next visit. For anyone in downtown St. Pete looking for an incredible dining experience with top-notch cocktails and mouth-watering Asian tapas, Fortu is the place to go. "Fortu was an incredible dining experience for my partner and I. We ordered som cocktails and several small plates to share. John H was our server and he provided exceptional service. The rock shrimp was super crispy with an incredible chili garlic aioli I wish I could bottle up and take home. We shared the wagyu gyoza which was delicious. The tuna wonton tacos were super fresh and the wonton shell was light but crispy. The fried rice was good and a little on the sweeter side. I had the gin fizz which was really refreshing. My partner had the old fashioned and said it was smooth. The espresso martini was delightful. Our server provided us with two complimentary glasses of champagne to celebrate on our anniversary. Overall the experience was incredible. The food was delicious and service really amplified our positive experience. We really enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the restaurant and all the details that were put into this restaurant from the dishware to the light fixtures. I would highly recommend."

"We have been to Fortu twice since they opened and both visits have been wonderful! Our server, Jayce, was amazing and made our entire experience just perfect. The food was as beautiful and creative to look at as it was to eat and the drinks were crafted so artistically. It seems as though every detail in this place was carefully curated.
