Indian Bistro 4785 Gulf Boulevard, St. Pete Beach, FL 33706

"We ordered the Butter Chicken and the Lamb Korma. Papads, and butter Naan. They were out of the large Taj Mahal beer. The vibe of this restaurant is a bit odd. It’s very minimalist. Nothing we saw of the decor led you to think you were in an Indian restaurant so it did live up to the title of “bistro”. Absent were any smells of curry or spices. The sauces seemed to be fairly generic and not a lot of spice. You can select your sauce and then add whatever protein you want. What I did like was the chicken. It was actual cut pieces of chicken and not the usual cubed frozen chicken many restaurants serve. It was very tender. The butter naan was saturated in ghee or butter I wasn’t sure and difficult to eat as it was too chewy. The lamb korma was good. At the end when the bill came the waiter told us that the tip should be cash as the credit card reader wasn’t working for tips. I have no idea what that was about but it was odd. We don’t travel with cash so I told him I can only do credit card and he said ok."

"Such a great and unexpected find! They were able to accommodate our group of 7. Our server was very attentive and had good menu recommendations! We were there for about an hour and 40 minutes. The samosas (pictured) were the best we’d ever had. The pastry was extremely delicious and the filling perfectly spiced. Didn’t take photos of other items because they were eaten so quickly!"

"We love Indian food and had great hopes! but were disappointed in the food. I was hoping for a veggie curry but settled for cauliflower potato. My dish was unimpressive. It came floating in oil with an okay flavor. My husband's eggplant dish didn't look or taste good so he didn't eat it. Five stars to the waitress because although we didn't ask for a refund she gave us one anyway when she saw he didn't eat it. I'm hoping this review will motivate the chef to create some amazing dishes as they are the only Indian restaurant in the area. We would love to be able to enjoy a meal there!"

"Indian Bistro lived up to the reviews! We ordered the Samosa Chaat, Lamb Curry and Aloo Naan. The Samosa Chaat was full of flavor and, honestly, the best I have ever had! The combination of the mint chutney and yogurt sauce over the chick peas and warm samosa was perfectly balanced! The Lamb Curry was perfectly spiced (we ordered it medium spice), and the naan complemented it. The service was quick, and the owner was approachable without being overbearing. My only complaint is that we didn't have room to try the desserts! We will definitely be back if we are in St. Pete again!"

"THE BEST INDIAN FOOD EVER!! We had the Chicken Tika Masala, the curry chicken, Paneer Korma, garlic naan, paneer naan, and samosas… Every. Fantastic flavor! Taste! The chicken was so tender. Hands down the best Indian food !!"
