"Except for the fish motif inside and out and the extensive seafood menu, Shell's Seafood has the look and atmosphere of a typical, somewhat worn out diner. It seems to be a popular spot with the locals. When my wife and I went about 6 PM on a Tuesday evening, the place was packed. Even so, we managed a parking place in the small, tight parking lot in back and we waited less than 15 minutes for a table. The bar selections were pretty ordinary with the beer being mostly pale and domestic. I had grilled Grouper and my wife had the cheese tortellini. Both were good, but nothing to rave about. The thick end of my fish was underdone but the server took it back to the kitchen for more cooking and all was well. The key lime pie was very good."

"We visited for the Tuesday night snow crab special and truly enjoyed our experience. The crab leg platters were plentiful, tasty and a great value. Great clam chowder - packed with more actual clams than you’ll get anywhere else. The service was also great - friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our cocktails. The atmosphere is basic, but we enjoyed our evening!"

"Nice little spot for a seafood lunch. They also have some good looking burgers if someone in your party isn't into ocean food. I got the Mahi Mahi tacos and a side of asparagus ( hey, don't hate, I needed some veggies). I liked the tacos and the slightly spicy crema on the side. It was odd to see shredded processed cheese on fish tacos, but nonetheless, they were good. April was my server and she was great! Very nice, attentive, and had good timing."

"Amazing amazing!! Seafood was super fresh and flavor was awesome, not too much that you can’t taste it’s original flavor. Price was very reasonable too, plus we got free margaritas with yelp check in, so happy! Will definitely come back if we revisit town."

"This place was an excellent find on my visit to St. Petersburg. Good food and very convenient prices. It is a simple place, with a comfortable and striking atmosphere. I ate some pasta and they were delicious. The only thing that needs to be improved is attention. Employees seem overly eager for you to order quickly, pay quickly, and leave quickly. That can be improved."
