El Mezcal Mexican Restaurant Mount Dora

"My wife and I love this place. It is definitely the best Mexican food in the area. A couple of warnings though, first it can be busy so check wait times and second it can be a little loud. But if you get past these 2 things prepare for a treat. The combinations are the best value on the menu. We got the #2 and the burritos were stuffed with chicken. They don't short change you on your protein. The taco's are stuffed just like the burritos. The quesadillas were full as well. The flavors of the meal go without saying. You definitely want to save room for dessert. We both had the Flan and OMG was it good. It light and creamy with a drizzle of caramel. If you live in the area and haven't tried it, so yourself a huge favor and go. If you live near here or are just passing through you owe it to stop by and enjoy a taste of Mexico."

"Stopped in for lunch on a weekday and found the interior loud and busy, good for them. We decided to sit outside in the front which has a few tables on the sidewalk between the parking lot and the entrance. Even though we sat outside our waitress was out often checking on us, her only table outdoors. I decided to try the huevos con chorizo lunch special. The food came out within a few minutes and I was surprised to find such a huge portion of protein. It also came with tortillas, beans and rice and was absolutely filling. I felt like it wasn't seasoned much, but I'd prefer that over spicy chorizo that I can't eat. The pre-entree chips were warm and crunchy, possibly fried in-house. I'll definitely come back."

"This place was okay. I didn’t really like my food. I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas Supreme. It didn’t really have any seasoning. I ate a few bites and basically left the whole plate of food sitting there. My daughter said her food was good though. She ordered the Taco Shooters Citrus. We both had virgin margaritas, which were really good, and beautifully made. She just forgot to put any salt or sugar on the rims, neither did she ask if we wanted any."

"We were here for lunch and were seated immediately. For literal starters, I really like that El Mezcal uses a small carafe for their salsa. The salsa is already very good, and with the full carafe, I don't have to ask for seconds. My wife had the "Oh soooo very good" Shrimp Chimichanga. I enjoyed the Supreme Enchiladas lunch. Everything was delicious, piping hot, and out to us quickly. Great service!"

"2/9/22 *Updated Review* we revisited this restaurant as the 1st time we went, it was quite pleasant. This time, it was horrible. The server got our order wrong down to the soda- just terrible. I ordered a classic margarita & it was disgusting hence the Corona. The ground beef had a artificial, weird taste. It didn't taste like ground beef. Not really sure what happened from the last visit to this one, but geesh- it was gross. As well, their menu is overwhelming. __________________________________ The food here was absolutely delicious! Everything was prepared hot & fresh. The service was great. The staff here really made a great impression. They made sure everything was to our liking. I'll definitely go again & would certainly recommend."
