"Terrible system.....East zone is the absolute worst choice of schools....why would you bus a child across town taking over an hour bus ride...and my child has to get up at 5:00 to catch the bus. The bus stop is 2 houses down from a registered predator. I called the administrators and they laughed at my concern. Why would you add an hour n the beginning of the day to an already early to start school. Students are allowed to converse while teachers are teaching and students are allowed to use cell phones in just about every class my child has. YOUR SYSTEM IS BROKEN"
"The IT department gives government employees bad reputations. They skip meetings to leave early because it's Friday and they have no accountability"
"Hello This is Thom Morris from Guitar The Easy Way-I worked at Lee County Schools both as a Full Time Teacher and a Professional Substitute Teacher-and really loved it-No system is perfect-but working there for over 10 years was wonderful-"
"One of the worst systems in the state with no plan to fix it. Wasted money on busing kids in huge zones instead of neighborhood schools (like our neighbors to the south and north) so that children don't even know the kids in their own neighborhood. Teachers hate it, and as a result, they have to hire either teachers straight out of college with no experience or with no education background. If your child is advanced, you are screwed, especially at the elementary levels. They will be mixed with students of lesser ability and expected to help the teachers tutor those less motivated or inclined - even at the elementary level! With such a disaster, you would think the voters of Lee County would get a clue, but again, we elect congressman to go to DC to score cocaine. We get what we deserve, and apparently we don't think we deserve much. Find a good private school or move to Collier County."
"Extremely rude office staff!!! No one was helpful, in fact they were all extremely smug, unhappy, unfriendly and barely made eye contact. I went in to have my transcript sent from High School to a local college. The woman who helped me took my money, said "I'll be back in a moment to answer your question" and then disappeared for an hour. She couldn't be bothered to come out the first time she was called from the front desk; I had to ask a custodial employee twice just to communicate with her again. When we arrived, she came out to take our form within 5 minutes. Why did it take so long to get her to come BACK out? Was she hoping I would just leave? I have to wonder. When she did finally come out, she said "What are you still doing here?" and then proceeded to be extremely patronizing and said, "I feel bad for you for waiting" and "bless your heart" as if talking to a child. There was no way to get receipt from her for proof of the transaction, even though I gave her cash. It will be weeks before knowing if she did actually send it, and by then it will be too late. Anyone seeking help from someone here would be much better off going online even if they have difficulty doing so. The run-around you will get from a website is no worse than the run-around you will get going to this office."
