Reviews of Creekside Charter Academy
"I feel like I sent my 5year old son to prison. We were so excited to have our child start kindergarten at creekside, it turned out to be a nightmare for our child. Kindergarteners should not be expected to sit for 6 hours quiet and focused! My child comes from a well structured and scheduled home. He is well disciplined, but also allowed and encouraged to be a 5year old. The teacher seemed more focused on discipline than academic. My child would come home with holes in his shirt from where he was chewing because he was so nervous about being told he wasn’t behaving. Everyday he would get in the car and ask if he could go back to his preschool, where the teachers would brag about how well behaved he is. My husband and I met with the teacher and she told us our child had a behavioral issue. The last straw was when my 5year old got into the car sad because he had been sent to the corner and told he was “driving her nuts!” And he had no clue what he did wrong. We quickly withdrew him and sent him to Belmont Elementary. He gets in the car everyday now and screams I had an amazing day! He usually has a gift or a prize from his teacher for having such and amazing day!"
"I went to this school for 2 years and they was the best two years of my life. 8th grade was a year I’ll never forget, you make a lot of friends here and the staff is amazing with connecting with their kids and make sure everyone is safe and feeling comfortable. At the start you might not like it but once you get the hang of it and know people it’s so easy to graduate. Just always be on teachers and staff’s good side and you will have an experience that i have had."
"My 4 children attended this school from 2018-2022. The communication from this school is very terrible. Staff is very nice to parents and students. Most teachers are experienced and have a good teaching method. School food is mediocre to poor. 3 of my kids liked the school, and the oldest one didn’t. My children told me the 5th and 6th grade teachers were the best. Bullying is a slight problem but less than normal. All my children are in gifted and i am very grateful that the teachers have noticed and accepted them."
"There should be an option for 0 stars. Being at this school was just HORRIBLE. I am a straight A student and the teachers didn’t even do their job correct, they wouldn’t take the time to just teach, they would just speed and make you write down what’s on the board with no explanation. My grades changed terribly from being at this school. As soon as I changed schools my grades went back to straight A’s. I would never recommend this school to anyone. It took long for them to get me into gifted classes. The principal would yell at the staff and I witnessed a moment when she yelled at the janitor for a small mistake. This school is toxic I would never recommend it."
"Absolutely terrible school. My daughter attended this school since opening day. I gave it time considering it was a brand new school. High overturn of teachers and staff. Huge groups left at the same time. Very little communication from the school to the parents. Teachers don't do anything above and beyond what is required. Car line is a nightmare. Before and after care children are fed chips and cookies and sat in front of a television. Cafeteria food is overpriced and low quality. Extra curricular activities after school are expensive and most of the time half the sessions are cancelled. Bullying is a huge problem at this school. They lost a student last year in the beginning of the year. Police were called to help them find her. Volunteer hours are difficult to get and every other month it's a new fundraiser. Lots of money is expected from parents. By far the worst school my child has been in. I wish we would have left sooner however I wanted to give them the time to fix the issues... This was never achieved. Things just kept getting worse. Front office staff was hostile at best."
