"Wonderful walking trails and occasional benches where you can sit and listen to the birds and feel the breeze."
"Average. Paid for my son to attend a homeschool class here and was not impressed. The class description said there would be animal encounters – which was my son’s main aim. But after spending two hours between trails and pavilion time, not one single animal was seen. Plus it was really hot and humid even for March! Normal for Florida, but not a surprise no wild animals would come out, since that would have been the ‘encounter’ they advertised. Cheap enough for a quick visit, some cool stuff about Native Americans and clean bathrooms overall but not worth going back in my opinion!"
"Lovely narrow trails which feel deep in nature surrounded by water. Trails are all very short which is great for all ages. And it would and harder to get lost with that aspect (but trail markers kinda confused me). Cant wait to visit nature center since I just walked some trails. Kinda not kept up with great but I love my nature hikes rustic. Ends on dead end road so just park on side of road and read all signs to ensure you're on the right path. Cant wait to go back! It's so close to interstate so you can hear traffic BUT I am so pleased that this land is protected because it was hear first. Please honor the flora and fauna because you're on native land that people lived on so long ago and that presence is still very strong."
"This place is awesome especially since it’s so quiet. There’s campground, hiking trails, awesome volunteers, a free fossil museum with goods, kayak tours and rentals! Really a hidden gem in Ruskin. Good for dogs and the kiddos! My kids even got some free fossils from some awesome volunteers that went above and beyond to make the experience even better."
