Standard annual physical for anyone in their 50s, and you get hit with lab fees 200% to 300% higher than industry standards. Examples: Lee Health charged Metabolic Panel $86 Industry Standard $34 Lee Health charged Lipid Panel $92 Industry Standard $47 Lee Health charged HbA1C $66 Industry Standard $33 Lee Health charged Hep C antibody $100 Industry Standard $33 Lee Health charged CBC $47 Industry Standard $25 I don't work for another diagnostic lab company, but know the industry well. Do your homework...go to any of the other lab organizations (LabCorp - Pixel, Quest - Direct) websites of your choosing and compare prices. Do you also know that 1st January 2021, Federal Healthcare Transparency law went into effect, requiring healthcare systems to post on their websites, 300 service offering/procedures pricing, so us citizens can actually comparison shop instead of waiting 2 months for the price surprising bills to show up? Typically with no explanation of fees at all...just pay us this undefined amount of money now! I struggle to find this on Lee Health website....anyone out there able to point me in the right direction? The Administrators of "non-profit" Lee Health have a lot of trust placed into their hands by the citizens of Lee County...again, basically granted monopoly rights of healthcare. They really need to try to harder to return that trust, with fair, equitable and visible pricing schematics. There is no way to justify price points 200%, 300% higher than those organizations that operate as FOR PROFIT organizations, and making major profits to boot! (Example: Quest made $2.7 BILLION in profit last year, charging 50% to 75% less!)"
