Write Start Learning Center

"I toured Write Start Learning Center in July 2023, along with several other preschools, and was initially drawn to the bright colors and spacious classrooms the school had to offer. I appreciated that they advertised their approach of working with children who struggled with nap time and their redirection-based method for students facing behavioral challenges. Additionally, I liked that they boasted small classroom sizes with two teachers in each room. My child officially started in August, but her time at the school was cut short after only 8 weeks when she was deemed a "safety hazard." They did refund the future weeks' payments, but I had to pay for the full week, even though my daughter attended for only 5 hours. Soon after starting, I noticed that some of the school's advertised strengths turned out to be weaknesses. I can't pinpoint exactly what happened during her time there, but my daughter struggled with forming connections and exhibited aggressive behaviors like name-calling, both towards others and herself. These behaviors were rarely observed prior to her attendance, especially under the care of her first teacher, Mrs. Meghan, but became consistent with Ms. Aviance and Jamey in the 3's room. The frequent teacher changes during those 8 weeks likely didn't help the situation. I'm saddened that her first school experience was far from great, but I'm also relieved that she was given the opportunity to start over. The staff at the new school was understanding and committed to assessing my daughter's behavior and providing resources to support her. Her transition to the new school was a bit challenging at first, but she quickly adapted. She is warmly welcomed with hugs and smiles, creating a far more positive and nurturing environment than her previous experience at Write Start. It should also be noted that there are only two teachers in the classroom during high volume hours. I observed the class more times than not at ratio 1 to 15 (which would not be smaller classroom sizes) as initially advertised. There are even times in the morning where ratio sizes are questionable of if they are being followed. Update to response: I regret to say Write Start Learning Center fell short of the promising picture painted. Despite my daughter's struggle with the transition from being at home to daycare, there was a lack of support or even a meeting to address her challenges. This resulted in persisting behavioral issues that carried over to her new school. The contrast was stark when the new school promptly offered multiple resources for her assistance. Sadly, I can't recommend this center, as it appears their priorities lie more in financial aspects and compliance rather than genuinely supporting children's needs. I also want to highlight that I took the initiative to schedule a meeting when they warned us about the possibility of her being asked to leave if the behavior persisted. Shockingly, after just five hours on her first day back, they asked her to leave without much consideration. Despite their willingness to schedule a meeting, they conveyed a lack of interest, stating they didn't see the point. This disregard for understanding and addressing her struggles further solidified my disappointment with Write Start Learning Center."

"For starters, my niece and nephew attended Write start almost 8years ago. As their aunt, when walking into the building, my first impression was breath taking. The care & love they give to the children, family and each other is beyond heart fulfilling. I knew at that moment that was a trusted place to leave your children. Now, being a mom of two, I chose no other place than Write Start Center myself! All the staff is well trained and beyond phenomenal with my kids & the other children. The director who has been there for many years, Ms. Kerri, is most definitely the perfect person for the leader of their center. Shes outstanding! I've, and would continue to reccomend this center for the trusted care of your children when leaving them in the care no other than yourself. "I love Write Start Learning Center. It's the only daycare I will trust to send my children to. The staff is so friendly, caring, and trustworthy. I took our 1st daughter here when she was 2 years old and the most of the staff is still the same from when I took her there and she's 10 now! My 5 year old now has been attending since she was 2 years old and she loves it. We have a 3rd child now and she will attend as well. This is the only daycare I have ever recommended to anyone. Not only do my children learn but they are well taken care of and loved."

"There is nothing my husband and I can say that is negative about this school! My daughter has loved all her teachers and so do we. If you need anything you can just ask and it will be addressed quickly. They have a great communication; from newsletters, to app updates on your child's daily progress. My daughter has been at this school since she was 2 months old and is now 4 yrs old. The staff has worked with me in the past with allergy concerns and are wonderful! they have a higher number of CPR certified teachers than any other school in the area."
