"We eat sushi often and visited this establishment. Started off with tuna tataki. Tuna smelled off not fresh. I sent it back. We had two other rolls that were just ok. My bill still had the tataki even though I had sent it back for good reasons. The girl that served was clearly annoyed and rude. Sorry but tuna not fresh, I don't eat it. Certainly not raw. Never again."

"Volcanic sushi is one of the best in Gainesville. Their service and atmosphere is great. They have a wide range of great things to eat. I definitely recommend any of their sushi rolls, and their Tofu fried rice, or their Combination (steak, chicken, shrimp) fried rice is the best!!"

"Restaurant is cozy with a mixture of booths & open tables. There is also a limited wine bar that allows space for more casual eating while watching TV (Sports). There appears to be a generous amount of take out customers also."
