Sorrento Elementary School

"My daughter has been attending this school for 4 years, the front office staff is horrendous and the principal could careless about your child. My daughter's math teacher uses I inappropriate language and I emailed her and she doesn't care!! Her teacher talks bad about my child to the ladies in the front office right in front of me! I have 2 boys and I pray I have the money to send them to private or I'm taking them out of district!!"

"I am very happy with this school. It is filled with caring and committed teachers. They have prepared my son for middle school next year. I have found the principal to be fair and approachable. They have a very involved PTO and engaged volunteers! Sorrento Elementary has a beautiful campus! I highly recommend this school."

"This is the fifth year I have had a child (now three children) attending Sorrento Elementary. In my opinion this is one of the best schools in our County. The teachers care about their students. The office and support staff are always friendly and efficient. The principal leads with kindness. I feel my kids are receiving an excellent education and a very fine elementary experience that focuses on the "whole child." We have an excellent music program, book clubs, the Invention Convention and happy students at Sorrento Elementary. Our principal, Mrs. Burkhead, has done a brilliant job of leading our school from it's "infancy" to an "established" school with huge community support. My family loves Sorrento Elementary."

"Sorrento elementary school is exactly what an elementary school should be. First of all the curriculum is on par with state standards. But, more so than curriculum the teacher and administration care. They are attentive to the children's needs and even their wants. We moved back to Sorrento just for this school. The environment if obviously education. But its not ran like a jail (Like another lake county school, that i wont name) The kids have fun and enjoy going to school."

"Our children have been attending the school for the last five years and it was a wonderful school until this year. It is evident the school is now lacking in leadership. Also, there was a huge influx of new students this year and the average class size is now around 25 students which is too many for one teacher to provide the appropriate attention to all students equally. We will be attending a new school next year unless there is a change in leadership."
