"I am deeply dissatisfied with my experience at The Nest School. The issues I encountered were beyond concerning. The sewer lines were leaking into the playground, creating a hazardous environment for the children. Moreover, the staff showed a complete inability to properly assess the children academically, leaving me worried about my child's development. There were instances where my child was clearly harmed, yet the school staff dismissed it, even calling my child a liar despite clear evidence of bite marks on their back. The facilities were appalling – from teachers having a closet as their "break" room to bathrooms that were not properly cleaned. The high turnover rate for teachers speaks volumes about the school's management. Worse still, the school had multiple run-ins with the Department of Children and Families due to their poor childcare standards. On top of all this, the school has closed due to deplorable conditions, including instances where the water supply was shut off. The director's two-faced behavior was particularly disappointing. They pretended to be understanding when spoken to but talked negatively about parents behind their backs. Additionally, the school's financial practices were a nightmare. They were unable to automatically charge my bank account for services, leading to significant financial issues. Even when contacting the billing personnel, I was told that due to changes in rates for children and other internal issues that they are unable to promise that potential delays in being charged were inevitable. I urge parents to think twice before enrolling their children here. I have documented proof of these incidents, and I am appalled at the lack of professionalism and care demonstrated by The Nest School *Edit* Oh, I'm sorry. Your school's poop pipe is leaking into the playground, even though you still didn't deny it. Also, DCF does make scheduled visits unless you're doing your primary care audit when first starting up. Good on you for not mentioning anything about how the director is still talking negatively behind parents back. If the city were to perform water maintenance, they're required to notify you. It's illegal to be running a daycare without running water. I hope this just proves that this daycare center, in particular, needs some major renovations with the management team. Also, yes, I was a husband of a former employee but also had 2 kids attending. You don't want to forget about the kids. Like you did that one time...... or is that supposed to be a secret?"
"We love the nest. The director Ms. Diana and assistant Director are amazing people. They know all the children. If you ever have a question or concern it is addressed immediately. The school amenities are one of the best. My children love the playground. They also have the most amazing teachers. Some of which have been there for years and you can tell. I just love this place. I am so happy we found it. For anyone who sees older reviews, this is new management (as of a year ago) and under new ownership. The school continues to get upgrades. It really is a special place that has the right people. Everyone is just so loving. My kindergartener comes with me to pick up my littles and still hugs the teachers and directors and that is just something I have not seen before."
"Love this school. The layout is simple and calming for my kids. The lessons are planned out and children are allowed to learn at their pace. It was a very difficult decision when selecting a preschool for our first child and couldn't be more happy with our choice. Now 2 years later we have both our children enrolled full time. They both really enjoy going to school. The only hard part will be the first couple of days as your child and you acclimate to the new routine (harder on parents). If you have selected this school rest assure you have made the right decision."
"The tuition is overpriced to not provide lunch or snacks. When my daughter started school in October, I was told the school was awaiting permits to serve food. The school had amazing teachers when my daughter first started. Not sure if it’s a management issue, but teachers do not last long. This made her day to day experience inconsistent. I was so cautious on dropping her off in the care of one of the morning teachers. She was extremely rude to kids and parents. I personally seen her not provide support to a sitting 6mo. The baby fell back and she said “why are you crying you did that to yourself “. Needless to say, the more they hire the less qualified the candidate. There was a severe need to hire due to this center being understaffed. Her last month was extremely difficult for me to even send her to school. I felt so uncomfortable leaving her in the care at The Nest. I seen a teacher yank her by the arm off of a cabinet. When I reported it to Diana she said she did not see the teacher pull her arm. I had just spotted her so I second guessed myself and took Diana’s word for it. Until I seen another act of abuse to another child. The teacher grabbed a child and shook her head so hard. I reported it to Diana and the child’s mother. Diana told the child’s mom that the teacher shook her by the shoulders. That’s when I knew her intentions are to keep the center staffed to meet Florida’s standard guidelines. Not the protection of our children. I know the mom asked to see the footage and was told by Diana she would need to be subpoena. I do not recommend this center! We left this center 1 month ago and my child is thriving. She communicates words, letters, numbers, best decision we made for her."
"This is the by far the best preschool I have ever found and had my children apart of. From the teachers (thank god for Ms. D) to the front desk and just everything they do with and for the kids and the environment itself can't be beat. Not to mention every time I go in it's so CLEAN. You can just tell from the second you walk in that this isn't your ordinary daycare or preschool- they truly have set themselves apart and I can truly say I feel safe and comfortable with my daughter going there. I'd give a million stars if I could."
