Reviews
"Had a great time wonderful food and friendly staff."
"Nice, quiet little place with absolutely delicious food! I had the LG cheeseburger combo and the husband had the firecracker burger combo with cheese curds. Absolute best burgers!"
"We like hidden gems like this one. The service is great & everyone is so friendly. There are lots of great menu choices but to us you definitely can’t beat their bacon cheeseburgers. Go try them out u will be glad you did."
"I had originally written out a long, deep review regarding my visit here. I mentioned a coworker of mine (Red) telling me I really needed to try their burgers, about how my cousin had eaten here and heartily recommended it, etc. However, that review seems to have disappeared into the ether and instead all that remained was one silly picture of a large bacon cheeseburger without any context whatsoever. Today, I am going to rectify that. First, let me reiterate that I was returning from Thunder Beach and was starting to get hangry. As I came through Samson, I lamented the fact that there wasn't anywhere between me and home to get anything to eat. Then I remembered Calamity Creek. So I made straight for it. I parked my bike and made for the door. The first thing I noticed was the huge ramp leading to the entrance. (The restaurant is on stilts due to its proximity to the river.) At the base of the ramp was a sign that read (and I'm paraphrasing): Caution Ramp Ahead. We recommend reaching at least 70 mph to clear the river." It was at that point that I knew I was going to enjoy my visit here. I climbed the steps, walked in, and was told to sit where I liked. I picked a small, 2 seat table and waited for a server. She came by soon after, taking my drink order and handing me a menu. After looking it over for a few minutes, I asked her what the difference was between a cheeseburger and a large cheeseburger. She made a shape with her hand while explaining that it was "just a little bit bigger". Spoiler alert - it is a LOT bigger than the shape she made. Oh, and it wasn't mentioned how thick it was... But let me tell you, while it sounds like I'm complaining, I promise it was anything but. That was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. Another quick story: the entire time I was eating, any time anyone would finish their meal, one of the ladies would come by and ask them if they wanted a piece of cheesecake. One by one everyone would decline. She finally asked me and I told her, yes, I would love a piece of cheesecake. However I had just finished consuming an entire side of beef on a bun. I did end up getting two slices of the cheesecake and taking them home, though, and they were also phenomenal. So there you have it. My re-review of Calamity Creek Cafe. I can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu, but trust me, you won't go wrong by giving this place a shot!"
"Great little place! Hid away, but that's all part of the adventure!! Great burgers and fried mushrooms"
