"Im 16 and had found a severely malnourished dog in the middle of nowhere and I brought her to the shelter only to be rudely told that I have to be 18, then when I asked what I’m supposed to do, the clerk snapped back and told me that I’m supposed to “be in school”. With no empathy for my situation at all. Animal shelters are supposed to be safe havens for animals brought in by anyone no matter the age . I wasn’t even supposed to be in school because I don’t have a first and second period. I have never seen someone so sour working at a shelter."
"I had to surrender some kitties. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. I had several and they couldn't take them all, which I understand, but told me to check with them later and they could take them. Clean facility. If you are looking for a new pet, please adopt. These furbabies all need their furever homes."
"Confused on what’s the purpose of this place. Can’t bring any dogs here because they won’t take them if they aren’t groomed and vetted. But isn’t the purpose of this is to take abandoned and stray pets. Don’t know why the employees are getting paid to just turn away animals. I wonder how many other pets they’ve turned away that ended up in worse situations."
"Adopted a 6 month old puppy on Friday, had her dying in my arms by Sunday and rushed to an emergency vet where she laid on the floor. Extreme case of parvo. The vet said it was one of the worst cases she had ever seen and thankfully we got her there in time to get meds and fluids. The utter lack of professionalism, worrying about money over care for their animals, and just laziness of doing their job is disgusting and shows the kind of people there. I hope she makes it, but be sure to take any animal you get from here to the vet the very next stop to get checked out since they don't check, isolate, or give proper care. Best of luck to future fosters, adopters, and people looking for their best friends."
"I adopted my Emotional Support Animal Elliot from here, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Pro tip: make sure you always take your new family member to the vet right after getting them, as Animal Shelters are constantly overwhelmed and overworked and may not have the resources necessary to prevent all diseases. Much luck to future pet owners!"
