"Best thrift store by far! Great prices and wonderful staff! Love this store!"
"I had a 200 lb headboard I was trying to move and the skinny little Chinese woman couldn't be bothered to hold the door open to the store so I could get it out with the item, I wasn't needing help to load it. Stood in the way talking to a friend and then slammed the door in my face while carrying it. This is not how you treat a customer in general much less a customer who has shopped at the store for over 4 years..fire her."
"Have enjoyed time with my grandson the past 3 Fridays in order to complete requirements of volunteer community service for Beta Club at his school. The staff are so friendly and appreciate our volunteer hours."
"Went in today found two pictures that went with my living room, no tag on them. Stood in line and pointed out that there was not a tag, and lady was very rude and literally snatched them from my hand and said read the sign. Manager standing right beside her, not a word from her. I've been shopping here for as long as they have been open, no excuse for the way it was handled today."
"Today I went into the Soddy Daisy location of the North Side Neighborhood House. I've been there several times before and I always come away with somthing each time. The store is always clean and organized, and the employees are always very nice and helpful. I really appreciate the fact that these stores support local charities and I'm willing to pay a few bucks more because of this! Take note shoppers: this is a charity, not a yard sale, not a flea market, and cashiers don't set or negotiate prices! On this trip I witnessed a customer being very rude to the cashier over the pricing of a piece of furniture to the extent that it was becoming verbally abusive to the cashier. The customer, we'll call her "Karen," was upset because the cashier had misquoted or miscalculated a 50% off amount without even seeing the tag. (To be clear, the item she wanted was ALREADY 50% off.) The cashier immediately admitted and apologized for the mistake, and continued to apologize REPEATEDLY, but the customer kept badgering her to lower or negotiate a lower price. This went on for several minutes and the cashier eventually called over the manager or supervisor. Again, KAREN kept hounding them to lower the price. By this time, a couple of customers had called out the KAREN customer for the way she was speaking to the cashier. Eventually, the situation was resolved and the customer left after purchasing the item for the original 50% off price. Her badgering/harassment techniques were unsuccessful. I would like to just go on record and commend both the cashier and the manager for the way they handled this customer. They were both polite, patient and kind and exhibited a great deal of restraint and grace in how they dealt with this woman. The cashier, especially, is THE REAL MVP, and deserves to be recognized! Her customer service was an exemplary clinic in how to deal with difficult people! Customers like this one are the reason that it's so difficult to find good employees in retail and restaurants right now! This Northside Neighborhood location has 2 OUTSTANDING employees and I just wanted to say GREAT JOB LADIES!"
