Reviews of Silverspoon Learning Center (SSLC)
"I was debating on putting my kids here seeing all the nasty reviews but I called instead …. And I spoke with either Sandra the owner or Marissa I have the call recorded … she was very rude and nasty she hung up on my face she wouldn’t give her name and lied about her position … I wouldn’t send my kids here, not for a second … if you can display such a poor mannerism over the phone. You’re obviously not fit to be handling children. There are animals working at this place and watching your kids … imagine the attitude they receive day by day. Absolutely disgusting."
"My niece was going here. One day she was not feed anything at all and she was there from 6:00 am to 12pm. How do you run out of food. When my sister took my niece home she was screaming because she was starving. Y’all please pull y’all kids out of here. If your kid has ever came home hungry then you know why. When they run out of food they don’t do anything to feed the kids who haven’t ate."
"I liked it when I first began bringing my daughter, then I started noticing small things from time to time. For this to be a black owned & operated center, they are NOT personable at all. I hate to even say that, but they are not welcoming staff. I've also noticed there is ALWAYS a new staff member every week. There's a high turnover rate- so your child never gets comfortable with anyone. Chandra & Kim are never in the office because they have to replace the teachers they don't have. DO NOT expect to know what your child did that day either, they don't send home daily sheets with NO details of your child's day (changing, nap times, what they ate, etc). Also they do not allow your child to have beads in their hair, Kim made me take out my little girl's beads on her first day (she never told me this prior) your kid ONLY can wear Velcro pull-ups for their convenience! Please have your payment on time too OR Kim will call you out in front of other parents! They are quick to lie, they called everyone on my daughter's contact list & told them that she was sick because I was not able to get to my phone quickly. She was not sick at all, they just terminated services. Outside of that, they will teach your child which is a plus, but I do that anyway at home. I do not recommend this center, solely based on the lax in the business & the center is always out of ratio!. If you're looking for a clean facility this is it, as far as somewhere to feel comfortable as a parent? Nah. Hopefully they get better!"
"I live directly behind this daycare center. If parents knew how long the "care givers" let their children cry and I don't mean temper tantrum cry, they would pull their child out immediately! If your child has become someone that yells, it's because that is the only way they communicate with those kids! Too bad I can't give negative stars!"
"Very disappointed in silverspoon. My son attended the daycare for 2.5 years and we started having issues in the last few months. The center is awful with communication. One day my son messed up his clothes and instead of calling to let me know he needed more clothes, they had him walking around in his coat, pajama shorts, and his boots in 30 degree weather. Lately we have had some complaints about our son’s tantrums and not sharing and when trying to come up with a plan for him to improve we were told he just needs a beating. Now, my son has been sick so he has been kept home however we continued to pay our holding fee for his spot, yet today we received an email to come get his belongings. Confused, we called to ask why and we were told that his spot had been filled by another child. So that’s just that. We’re out of child care. Just be aware."
