"We had a lovely stay here. Sunrises, paraglide viewing from the roof was just spectacular. Located convenient 30 minute drive to Chatt, a short distance to Cloudland Canyon SP. Quiet mornings and evenings with the sound of squirrels in the nearby woods. Perfect for a couple or small family with young children. Neighboring dwellings did not impede on our enjoyment. Hot tub was nice. View from the firepit even better than the roof. To our surprise no TV, shocking at first, welcomed minutes later when I realized I needed a break from the one-eyed monster. Internet connection was strong and welcomed."
"I know the owner. He is very talented and knowledgeable about building unique structures. He has several properties in the Lookout Mountain, Georgia area."
"Avoid. AirBnB pics are intentionally misleading. Neighboring unit is steps away. Active construction site where a third unit is being built was not disclosed; it's directly across the drive facing the front door and the hot tub. Owner stated in one of his messages that there was no construction while tenants were around, but we watched a pickup truck drive up, a guy go into the structure for about 5 minutes, then came back out and left. "Rock" structure is stained and discolored, windows are foggy. Flower beds and surrounding vegetation is overgrown with weeds, not lush landscape as depicted. Some of this of course is seasonal, but weeds require maintenance. It's as advertised inside, pretty cool, but exterior is rundown and surroundings suboptimal. I respectfully pointed these things out and said that we would not be staying, and asked for a partial refund. The owner's reply was to ask if we had even been inside, and "this place is sweet". In his AirBnB review of me as a guest called us "a special kind of dumb" when we opted to not stay based on the misrepresentation. As a current MBA student I get that it's a business and that opportunity cost is a real thing, which is why I felt it reasonable to ask for only a partial refund. This provided an opportunity for the owner's character to show, and he reacted emotionally rather than as a business owner who is concerned about guest experience and business reputation. He's more attached to the property than most hosts might be, as he and his team built the units themselves. It's a great concept, and we would have been happy if it were properly maintained. With any luck more guests will communicate similar suggestions and the property can live up to its potential. It's a great lot and location, and has the potential to be a really cool experience. We just wish that there was a more honest representation of the condition, and that the owner had reacted more professionally. Best of luck."
