"We had $10,000 worth of damage to our boat which we believe was caused by AAA Boat Repair in Dawsonville Georgia owned by Steve Purdy. This business was previously owned for many years by a man named Bruce Paulson who had a great reputation. Many good reviews date back before the current owner took possession. Our boat went into another shop for an oil change and we told them to check the lower unit to see if it also needed an oil change. We were informed our lower unit was cracked and would need to be replaced for a cost of $5,000. We were told this type of damage is very rare and is caused by freezing water because of being out in the elements or not being winterized properly. Our boat was stored under cover so was not exposed to the elements. Because we had not used this particular repair shop before, we decided to have AAA Boat repair, which we had used in the past, give us a 2nd opinion. We had not yet realized they could have been the cause of the damage to our boat. Steve told us they would look at it no problem. A few days later, he called us and told us he was having trouble locating the lower unit part, and he didn't have anymore time to mess with it and we would have to look for the part. We thought this was very odd and told him we are not mechanics and wouldn't know how to be sure it would be the right part for our boat. He again said we would need to find the part. Not really understanding why Steve would be acting so strange, we went back to the original repair shop and told them to do the work. They found the part, no problem, but once the new part was installed, they realized there was also damage to the upper unit. Our repair was a shocking $10,000 and again we were told this could only be caused by freezing water in the lower unit. The last person who serviced our boat was AAA Boat Repair to winterize it. Either they never did the service and charged us for it or did it improperly. We feel that the only explanation for the odd way they were treating us after looking at our boat is they realized they were responsible for the damage and they didn't want us to stick them with the bill, even though we never accused them of any wrongdoing. Their odd behavior towards us speaks for itself. I would absolutely not recommend this company to service your boat!"

"Cable broke on dock and they replaced both cables. They also pulled in dock and set ramp as high up on bank as they could. Highly recommend; they do great work at a very reasonable price."
