"This is a great place to live if you go to GA Tech. It’s nice and convenient but overpriced. On the other hand, if you like wifi and working internet, run away from here. It never works. Ever. And the workers are no help to get it fixed."
"Paloma is super conveniently located and one of the more affordable off campus options, even though it is becoming less and less affordable. Walls are thin but the apartments are super spacious and have everything you would need (pantry, full kitchen, laundry machines, etc). I live in a 2x2 and my roommate and I have had lots of issues with management but they are easy to communicate with once that communication link has been established. Maintenance is super accessible if not during the first month or two of move in timing. Depending on the apartment you might have a bug problem but maintenance is generally responsive."
"All the management at "student apartments" are a bunch of crooks, so just know what you're getting into. The rent for lease renewals is increasing by 170 dollars for next year and goes up every 30 minutes. The problem is not so much the price increase as it is the way these people handled it. We got an email when renewals opened giving us a price of 1119 with no date of when these prices would increase. 9 days later we received an email saying the prices which were 1199(which we were never told when this new rate was applied) have just been sold out and the prices are now 1250. Over the span of 24 hours, they increased the price to 1299 then to 1329. We then looked into a 5x5 room which was going for 1279. We received a renewal offer with a random 15 dollar "rent" fee associated with it. I was told this was due to us being in a pool room view which we didn't request. They removed this fee from our lease and sent a new one 5 minutes later with a new 300 dollar transfer fee for moving rooms charged to each person (1200 dollars between the 4 of us). I’m not sure why we would be charged a transfer fee if we are signing a lease for a new year. We were told this was due to cleaning costs for the apartment. The place was a dump when we moved in and is cleaner now than when we moved in, so I'm not sure why they would need 1200 dollars to clean an apartment. It would have been at least nice to know a date or how many units were available until the prices would increase, but these people would rather send the tenants into a frenzy so they feel they are forced to resign. They are just preying on college students and it's wrong. Oh and the walls are thin as paper, so you hear every step the people above you take and the rooms are poorly insulated."
"1 Internet is a disaster, disconnect frequently. Failed for entire a month is normal. The apartment put the blame on Sigledigits instead of solving the question. 2 room maintance is bad, no air-conditioner filter changed. Frequent power losses. 3. Desk small when desktop is used. 4. Some specific staff is not very friendly (others are very good) ------------------ (9/17 update) Internet still not fixed. The internet have been down for 4-5 month now. The appartment don't acutally care the internet condition at all."
"the management office is completely unresponsive and impossible to reach. The phone number to the office connects you to an off-site customer service rep (according to what the rep told me) that seems to only be there to pass along messages and deflect on behalf of the people that actually run the apartment. I only know this because i was requesting a parent (who is literally on the lease and is my emergency contact) to be able to pick up my key for me. After leaving multiple emails and many phone calls, I’ve received one unhelpful email back to a previous question and no replies on my followups to what should be a straightforward answer. If an even responsive management office is what you’re looking for, id stay as far away as possible from Paloma"
