Reviews of Tens on West
"My husband James and I enjoyed an absolutely lovely apartment and building tour with John. So lovely that out of 20~ apartment tours that we took that weekend, we decided to call Tens on West our future home. The amenities are just gorgeous - especially the mini-theater! I will absolutely be hosting Marvel watch parties there. John went above and beyond for us, and we appreciate it. :)"
"I toured this apartment, and absolutely fell in love with it. I love the location and amenities. And my leasing agent Ania who gave me a tour was extremely sweet and helpful. I had no choice but to put in my application immediately. And i really hope to get it because tens on west is one of the best apartments I’ve toured, especially with the specials they have going on right now. Cant be beat for quality of living you’re getting!"
"I wanted to share my experience with the maintenance personal here on Ten on West. All of my interactions with the maintenance personal has been positive and we are grateful of them for keeping our building well maintained and clean. Specifically I wanted to recognize Irvin. He has completed a few of the work orders in my apartment and is always professional, efficient, and friendly. I'm glad he's a part of the team and appreciate his work here."
"I lived at this location for 2.5 years. As noted, many reviews here are from people who took a tour or took advantage of incentives to leave a 5 star review. In short, living here has many upsides, but you should consider the compromises before fully committing to living here. The Bad -Trash and recycling: poorly handled, can be very far from your apartment, and not nearly sufficient for the building. -Parking: you pay a lot for parking, and your guests will too. You have five "free" parking passes per month, which is restrictive. It's also a hassle. Your guests will have to pay upfront and then you have to login to the parking service and "validate" their parking so they get a refund. After that, parking rates are astronomical for guests which encourages many residents to let cars without parking decals into resident parking, which makes parking hard for you on weekends. -Mail: the building uses Fetch to deliver packages. If you're unfamiliar, you have parcels sent to a different address than the apartment, and then Fetch brings you the package later. Fetch started out as a great solution to messy mailrooms and halls crowded with delivery services. However, it devloved into a horrible one. If anything important or valuable goes missing, don't expect to hear from them for many days, and at best, they cover you for $100 if they lose your package or its stolen. -Building Maintenance: New management came in and said they were going to fix the carpets and broken doors and elevators, but after an initial round of fixes, many things were left neglected for long stretches of time. The gym was pretty touch and go, not a reliable way to get a workout. -Giving access to your apartment: There is simply no way to give a significant other, a housekeeper, or a pet sitter access to your apartment outside of business hours. They flat will not make a copy of your key. This was always a hassle. -Bike Storage: Biking in Midtown is great. Having a bike at this apartment is not. The bike locker is poorly secured, and way too crowded with old bikes no one uses. Good to Know -Neighbors: there are a lot of students who live here. This isn't bad, but just be aware that on Friday/Saturday nights or after graduation, it can get loud. Some people go off during the day and the dogs will bark during that time. Didn't bother me, but it might you. -Smoke alarms: they go off all the time, and it is extremely loud. I stopped going outside because it happened so often. I felt very unsafe in case there was a real fire. -Security: You will sign a huge stack of documentation in your lease basically saying you have no rights when you live here, and that includes security. I had property stolen from the bike room and there were people roaming the halls and knocking on my door late in the evening. A stolen bike and a lost drunk guy banging on my door at 3am aren't the end of the world, but it's Midtown. -Pools: I'm a stick in the mud, but I actually don't love pools. But the ones here are beautiful and very popular. Good to know if you live near the pool. The Great -Apt Maintenance: Maintenance was always very snappy when I asked for help inside my apartment. Even for changing light bulbs or water filters. Really loved this aspect of living here. -Beautiful finishes: Lots more space and better finishes than almost anything else in the area for the money. -Location: Walking to Publix, Whole Foods, Colony Square, and the park is just so nice. Also great access to Marta when you have out of town friends or need to go to the airport. -First Impressions: The entryways are beautiful and the staff are very friendly. -Security: They have zero legal obligation to keep you safe, but at least an effort is made. There is a security guard, and when we've had shootings in Midtown, it was nice to see a team in our building respond by searching the property. -Outdoor grills: It's hard to have company here, but when you do, the grills always have gas for even mid-week hamburgers."
