Reviews of Laurel Crossing
"Laurel Crossing does not deserve any stars as my experience as a tenant has been horrific. I have been living in their apartment complex for four years now, and my troubles started in 2019 on the day I moved in. Despite booking a maintenance technician to complete work in my apartment, they quit without finishing any of the job and left me with an outdated oven and an unusable dishwasher full of roaches. When I requested for the necessary work, there was a lack of communication and follow-through from the main office. It was either challenging to get in touch with them, or they would create a work order and yet fail to send technicians to address the problem. When Covid-19 was in full swing, things have only gone from bad to worse. My sink leaked, causing mold buildup underneath, and there was mold by the windows and water closet. It was unfortunate that I couldn't smell any of it due to being immune to the home. I requested a service call for the leaking sink which was repaired shoddily with silver duct tape, leaving the lining vulnerable to coming off. The final straw came when my water heater leaked, and I had to wait for a week for management to replace it. This caused secondary damage to the water closet, which now had a pungent moldy odor. What's even worse, I heard scratching noises as if someone was tunneling through the sheetrock in the closet, finding out that I am living with RATS. I immediately notified management, but all they did was provide me with two mouse traps despite the clear existence of rats in my apartment. It was embarrassing to live with rat poop, mold, mildew, and roaches, especially for my kids. We had to deal with rodent ranging from rat sightings, rat traps to low odor management sweeps, but the problem persisted. The management even tried to brush it off by saying we were close to the woods and to put the cereal away, even though rats were going through our cabinets. (Plus they called the pest control , but the issue was still be concurrent. Even the pest control people said it was overbearing). This situation forced me to move out as soon as possible to protect my health and that of my son's. It's unacceptable that the management only cares about rent money and doesn't prioritize the welfare of their tenants. I have pictures to back up my claims, and I'm speaking up to create awareness and possibly make a positive change for other tenants who may be experiencing the same issues. Plus the issue started with our downstairs neighbors and came through out apartment. Also, I finally had found the Manager number and she was talking as if I was the problem that has caused it but I am not and clean as ever with two toddler kids in the home. She also claim that I did not request for work orders but the work orders that she has made me aware of was not completed or the major things that I requested it has been hard to get in contact with them or have to call multiple times just to even get someone on the phone or none at all. It has something to do with these apartments is infested. Also, people are not going to complain due to the fact that they need somewhere to stay and the price is reasonable. Many tenants I got in contact with or they run into me say the same thing. Its hard to get in contact with them"
"*warning*. Lydia works for the office so her experience is working there. If you like broken ac units, mold, trash, and constantly seeing theft without the office doing anything. Then this is the place for you. I would never suggest moving here"
"Would not recommend even trying to move in here. They gladly took my application fee, and I contacted them to give them all of the other information needed to get in, and they have not responded to any of my emails, or phone calls to see if moving in was a possibility. Trying to contact this office is insane, I couldn’t imagine being a tenant trying to get anything fixed. Don’t even waste your time or your money."
"If I could give 0 stars I would. Do not move here the management is a joke they don’t do repairs to residents apartments, they lie, pad fees, and falsify information. I had a leak in my apartment from the apartment above mine it took them 2wks and multiple calls to come stop the leak that was in July, it’s October and the necessary repairs are still needed. Don’t walk run away from their properties. And the judge will side with them."
"I have been a resident of Laurel Crossing since 07/30/21 upon moving in there were several issues with the apartment I noticed but decided to overlook such as the roach problem I took upon myself to resolve, 2 missing bathroom drawers that were never installed upon renovation of the apartment, a non-working fireplace that was installed during renovation, peeling bathtubs that look a mess, and lastly a broken mailbox that doesn’t close that has been that way going on a month now. I have submitted multiple maintenance requests but have yet to have someone come out and fix any of those issues. I dislike the fact that I feel as if I have to beg to get things fixed. I find it interesting how they have workers out here working frequently on the outside of the buildings but have simple maintenance requests that can be easily resolved in a short amount of time. I like how quiet the community is, the office staff, and the location, but overall but to me it seems that the cons are starting to outweigh the pros. As much as I pay in rent I’d expect maintenance issues to be resolved in a timely manner. This is my first apartment and I am glad that I had the opportunity to live here but I will not be renewing my lease this upcoming July among others who have already moved out as I frequently see furniture at the dumpsters every month. I will be including pictures for those of you who’d like to have a look for yourself. Everyone’s experience is different but I just thought I’d share for those who’d like to hear from a current tenant."
