"I rented here for a year. Always paid my rent on time, I am in law enforcement and helped deal with problems occasionally. (I was not in a courtesy position and paid the normal amount of rent). Coming up to the end of my lease, I intended to stay at the complex. I had some huge life changes and ended up needing a house. As I am sure you all know, securing a residence in this housing market within 60 days of the end of a lease can be challenging. The manager, Sandra, was made aware of my intent to leave "32" days before moving out. I explained the situation I had, which I could not control and she said she would speak to someone and work with me to prevent me from having to pay 28 days of rent. That was in October and I heard nothing else about it so I assumed she handled it. Come December, I get an email with a huge bill showing I would have to pay the remaining "28" days of rent. Additionally, my security deposit was wiped out as there was "damages" listed in the amount of $175. The bill said "13 anchors repair" as well as a "cleaning fee." I had two photos hung up in the apartment and made the place spotless before leaving (see photo). I contact Sandra, who said I did not clean the apartment and that she would send photos from their "contractors" within 24 hours. I asked what happened to her helping me and she said it wasn't up to her. I asked for her to email her boss's information, and as of this post she still has not provided that. We spoke on 12/13. Make sure if you live there TO LET THEM KNOW WITHIN 60 DAYS OF YOUR LEASE ENDING, YOUR INTENT TO MOVE OUT. I know that seems counter intuitive, as if you haven't said you are staying, then the end of your lease lets management know when you are leaving, giving them plenty of time to fill the unit with someone else. They are absolutely UNWILLING to work with people despite things that are out of your control. Even if Sandra tells you she is, like it my case, she is not and just wants to not deal with the problem so she gives tenants false hope. If anyone else has experienced this please make sure you post a 1 star review as what is happening at this place is unjust. UPDATE: Sandra returns my email with photos of holes in walls from a completely different apartment, not even the same layout. My apartment had two hanging lights in the kitchen and in the photos she sent whoever's apartment had 3 LIGHTS. Make sure you take PHOTOS of your apartment as they probably make a habit of scamming people this way. (See attached photo showing 3 lights)"
"We lived here less than a year and couldn’t wait to terminate our lease once my husband got his job offer and required relocation. Top complaints — Zero landscaping other than directly in front of the office. Multiple requests for service to address it marked as complete without any action done. Valet trash service consistently left trails of trash throughout the hallways and stairwells, leading to unpleasant smells and discomfort just trying to get to your unit. Fire alarms going off at all hours of the day and night making working from home impossible. Fire Marshall had to come out and cite them multiple times before they brought a team in to address the faulty system. Front office staff incredibly rude and condescending and impossible to talk to about problems within the community. Save yourself the headache and live elsewhere."
"DO NOT RENT HERE: As previously stated by multiple reviews prior, getting in contact with management is a nightmare. There is a contact number but no one responds when you try to call, especially after multiple attempts. If you attempt to contact via written email there is no follow up or you are told the correspondence was never received, even if you have physical proof. The incentives are just a ploy to get people to rent there. Save your time and money. They will find every way to add additional fees to charge you on your bill. When the property management changed, they started charging water as a separate fee halfway through my lease. When inquiring about it at the front desk at the beginning of the year, I was told the lease did not specifically state that water was included in the rental fee or not included. I was informed water was included in the rental fee when the lease was signed under the previous property management. I was also charged with a fee for a large carpet stain, which is a blatant lie. If you try to fight any extra fees that are added even with physical proof, you are just told that those fees cannot be removed and are forced to pay them. Apartments are overpriced and are not worth it. They also do not offer any type of flexibility with payments. When their payment system changed after changing property management, there was no additional information provided to residents on changes of the new payment system. This entire rental property is a scam. Renters beware!"
"Update: 8/5/23 Still no response from mgmt. Now there is no landscaping services at all and the grass hasn’t been cut in weeks. Horribly run property, STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! Update: 7/10/23 Management writes on here ‘please reach out to us so we can resolve this matter’. I have emailed and called several times with no response, outside area still looks exactly the same and is not being addressed. Steer clear of this community if you want to be able to communicate with the property management. There have been four different property managers in the two years that I’ve lived here. Management is rude and defensive because of the constant problems they inherit from their predecesor. The apartment itself is great and perfect for my needs and generally the community is clean and quiet, but the turnover in the management staff is problematic. My front door area has looked like this for 1.5 of the years I’ve been here. Also, adequate dog waste stations are not provided throughout the community."
"DO NOT RENT HERE: Cadence Apartments has provided my husband and I with an overwhelmingly unpleasant living experience throughout the past year. The overall maintenance service was consistently delayed and of subpar quality. The front desk staff exhibited rudeness and a lack of professionalism. Additionally, the pool remained persistently dirty, undermining the anticipated enjoyment. To compound our frustrations, the fire alarms repeatedly disrupted our sleep during late hours, demonstrating a lack of consideration for the residents' well-being. Furthermore, our dissatisfaction escalated when we were unjustly demanded to pay an additional fee for a "heavily stained carpet," (Attached Carpet pictures to see if so someone can spot the HEAVY STAIN because we definitely did not) despite having evidence to the contrary. Shockingly, our attempts to communicate via email, accompanied by videos and pictures documenting the condition of the carpet before and after, were completely ignored. Moreover, the management's inflexible payment policy, which required us to pay the entire outstanding balance, including an incorrect water bill, left us no choice but to settle an unjustified amount. This coercive tactic is both unfair and unacceptable, and we are determined to pursue legal action through the small claims court to rectify this unjust treatment. It is crucial for potential renters to exercise caution and be fully aware of the deplorable conditions and unprofessional practices exhibited by the management at Cadence Apartments. Their behavior can only be described as that of slumlords, and it is in the best interest of prospective tenants to consider alternative housing options."
