Reviews of Big And Tall Services
"Hired Big and Tall Services to repaint a porch, recoat a large deck, and replace an exterior door. Jayme was quick to respond anytime I reached out with questions. He was incredibly easy to work with through the entire process. Jayme and the entire crew were friendly and punctual. They without a doubt went above and beyond on the project - I will certainly use them in the future and would gladly recommend their services."
"We hired Big And Tall Services on 9/3/20 -to do a kitchen update by painting the cabinets white. After he came out and evaluated, he gave us a price of $1800 to paint inside and out, replace wood on both lateral sides of the island and change out hardware. We chose Sherwin William’s reflective white paint that he told us he would provide, at which point he said he would provide sanding and primer also. Upon arrival on 9/7/2020 after being double booked the week before and being rescheduled to the following week, he began to use “liquid sandpaper” rather than sanding the cabinets. He assured us that this would remove all gunk from the cabinets and smooth them out as well. I did clean the cabinets as well 24 hours prior with my own degreaser, but he assured us that wasn’t even necessary. While he and his father did that, the other two men took the doors outdoors and began to prime them as well as prime the cabinets inside. Immediately, we noticed an issue under the cabinets where the grease looked to still be there( caked on) and the primer wasn’t taking, it was cracking. Jayme assured us that wasn’t an issue. At the end of the day, we notified him of the issues with the cracking and he said he would attend to it the next day. The doors were left outside to dry and things seemed to be ok, at that moment. The next day, we noticed the doors had fallen over, I’m sure due to wind and it caused cracking on some of the doors. We brought that to his attention and he stated that he was aware and would be fixing that as well. Lester offered some advice on how to fix them, but they stated they knew what to do. Once the first application of paint began, I noticed that he was using a Behr paint, not at all what we discussed. When he arrived the first day, he mentioned he bought a better grade of enamel that dried in half of the time, but never mentioned that it wasn’t a Sherwin Williams paint. When I noticed the Behr Premium, I was immediately upset. After discussing and explaining why we chose SW ( which we discussed in text and in person) and that we did not want Behr, he seemed agitated, and tried justifying his actions by stating that Behr was better for him to work with( which cost him more money )and that SW did not have a “cabinet enamel”, which baffled me. So of course, I went to Home Depot and a Sherwin Williams and found that was a lie! I had already called SW, prior to arriving there and gave his company number and verified that there was in fact a cabinet enamel( SW pro classic)! Jayme said, fine, I’ll get the SW paint. One coat of that SW was all he did and barely a second coat as you can see the brown( original color of cabinets) bleeding through, areas where it looks like paint hasn’t even been applied, unfilled cracks( they caused on my doors, no caulking down whatsoever and previous hardware holes not properly filled( which they told me they would fix after bringing that to their attention) areas of chipping, areas where the paint was applied over previous adhesive spots, continued and worsened cracking under the cabinets. An overall horrible job! BUT, upon finishing, Jayme knew our concerns and stated that customer satisfaction was the key and that he would he return after drying was complete to assess and finish touch ups, repairs, puddy in some areas and additional paint. It’s been 2 weeks and several calls and texts later and no Jayme. Jayme Dawson was in fact paid $1800.00 on the day of completion as agreed upon and we were given a 90 warranty as well as his word to come back in a few days. I knew and know that was the wrong thing to do, but at the same time, we wanted no issue on our part as far as payment was concerned, only peace...almost an incentive to say, we did our part, now finish yours! WRONG, WRONG, WRONG I would steer clear of him and his services as he is not an honest man and refuses to keep his word."
"I can't tell you how impressed I am with this team.. I literally went through 8 different quotes and inspections on my house trying to find someone who could do what I wanted. Every one of them either didn't feel comfortable with it or would make up excuses on why I should do something else. Big and Tall Services came in and all I heard from them was "Yes".. within a few weeks from my initial inspection and quote they started working. Every member of the team was professional and polite. As always there was a few hiccups along the way, but they dealt with them with a smile on their faces.. the budget was stuck to. Not only do I have a beautiful kitchen remodel out of it, I also have scored a few brownie points!! Thanks guys, you're welcome over for a beer anytime!"
