"Carlos is one of the nicest people I have ever met. My wife met him many, many years ago and used to visit his studio frequently. She has many of his beautiful pieces throughout our yard and garden. It has been several years since she has visited Carlos and she always wanted one of his spectacular benches. Today I decided it was time for a surprise so I called Carlos to make sure he was in his studio. At first I was distraught because I got voicemail but Carlos rang me back and to my surprise he remembered my name and immediately asked about my wife and apologized for missing my call as he was out making a delivery but he would be in the studio the rest of the day. So, I told my wife that we needed to go for a ride, she of course wanted to know where to... I told her it was a surprise - she doesn't like surprises... So I drove an unfamiliar route to get to Casa Montano and when I turned down his street, she said "We're going to see Carlos - I love him!" Then I told her not only are we going to see Carlos, but we are going to pick-up the bench you have always wanted... Suddenly, the woman that doesn't like surprises, decided that this was the best surprise ever. After catching up with Carlos and looking at ever piece in his studio he and his assistant loaded the bench into my truck that my wife has wanted for many, many years.
