"Nice guys, excellent service, nothing to complain about. They fixed the band on my mother’s watch quickly while I waited, at a super fair price."
"Went today after looking at reviews and calling to see if they bought silver or just gold. They buy both. Unfortunately what I had wasn't worth much given than it was 90% silver, but I was kindly greeted when I walked in and my pieces were inspected and the young woman that works there was kind enough to straighten out a ring that had gotten all bent up, at no charge (thank you so much). I did decide to hold on to what I had, for the aforementioned reason, even still I do hope to make it back to the store one day soon to actually walk around and look at their selection. Thanks again for being up front and honest as well as taking the time out to inspect my jewelry pieces."
"If you’re wanting to sell jewelry, this is definitely the place to go! They doubled what one jeweler offered me and I actually got a little lesson on what to know when selling jewelry. Be prepared to be educated. Also, turn around time for repairs are fast! They fixed my chain and pendant quicker than I expected!"
"TLDR: it seems as though more gold was removed than necessary to increase Better Jewelers’ profits. Now need to have it serviced again. Took my wife’s ring (solitaire with wrap) in to be down sized and attached together, easy enough. Picked the ring up a few days later looked good at first. After closer inspection, noticed that the area where they were attached was very little, and the band (shank) was incredibly thin in all directions. We were told that was normal. A little while later it looks like the shank is coming apart, almost like it’s ripping. When the ring was resized, more gold was removed than should have been (according to other jewelers) and it was left too thin. Since Better Jewelers keeps the gold they remove (unless you pay more) it seems as if more gold was removed to maximize profits. Before taking your jewelry here for any service, I’d highly recommend weighing your it before and after service and ask how much was removed, might even go so far as to weigh what removed. As can be seen in the photos the ring has significantly less material in the damaged area, compared to the surrounding areas. There used to be a more gradual tapering, but now, it’s a pretty drastic change."
