Reviews of Saia LTL Freight - Corporate Office
"Saia used to be one of the best LTL companies out there. Recently they've done a virtual 180. Customer service is awful, they reclass and weigh almost every shipment and even when you dispute it, they ignore you. I don't know what happened, but don't let the Saia of old trick you, they are a low value company with terrible customer service."
"What a nightmare. My package did not deliver when quoted and has been sitting at the 8th breakbulk station for a couple days without movement. I called and now they quoted an additional 5 days for a total of 14 days. Based on everything I am reading I guess my chances of receiving my package by the new date is very slim. If I had any idea what I was getting into I would have never placed an order to be shipped via Saia."
"This is the worst LTL company we have ever worked with. They have very deceptive quoting practices. We have been overcharged on nearly every invoice we have been issued. They claim weight discrepancies when we know that our scales are calibrated. This allows them to upcharge and not allow for any negotiation as they send a broiler plate letter. We have fought for months on a very small set of discrepancies of $757.58. We did over 57K with them prior to us chosing to eliminate any opportunity for them to bait and switch us. The culture is toxic it seems as they have not been able to provide any level of interaction with any management level that could have saved our business. We use all of the national carriers and not one of them has the horrific level of billing schemes that Saia has. We requested to speak with someone that had a desire to resolve our issues and were ignored with exception of the Collections Specialist. I would highly recommend passing on using this carrier as they obviously dont need any more business and can afford to lose accounts as things slow down."
"Package was not even delivered until we called. Order nearly took a month to get here (around 12-15 days late). Finally, we wanted it delivered to us because we do not have a truck and they told us they could not pull into our driveway and they would return the shipment back into the warehouse. Should have told us that ahead of time. Ended up having to get a uhaul.... Should have done that in the first place instead of getting it delivered through Salia."
"Haven’t even had my freight delivered yet but I feel compelled to write a review. Was supposed to have a delivery on Monday. Called, confirmed and reconfirmed. Window was huge 1pm to 7pm. 7pm blows by and we call “oh sorry, the freight wasn’t loaded on the truck” is the excuse. They somehow cannot deliver the next day, so we pushed to the next available slot, 5pm to 7pm Wednesday. 7pm again arrived and no delivery. Call and told it somehow magically didn’t make the truck. Now it’s our responsibility to call tomorrow to arrange a third delivery which they will probably screw up again. I’ve worked with many trucking and LTL shipping companies over 30 years. This one may be the worst. How can you operate without hitting a deadline let alone two deadlines?? Avoid at all costs if you need you stuff delivered on time and in tact."
