Reviews of Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation
"I own over 20 Milwaukee tools plus a lot of batteries. I started buying them exclusively when I retired a few years back to work on my farm. I do not use my tools alot but once I start a project they will see some decent use. My only issue with them is the life expectancy of some of the batteries. I am tired of buying batteries. I have 2 Red Lithium High Output XC 8.0 batteries that will only charge up to 2 bars. It seems that right after they go off of warranty is when this starts. I have already had to dispose of 3 others. 2 of the xc5.0 and another xc8.0. It does not seem to matter the amount of hours on the batteries as some are used far less than others. I can't afford to keep using Milwaukee tools if this is the best they can do on batteries. Reckon it is time to start doing some research on other brands. Dead With Red!"
"It's a shame how far Milwaukee has fallen. When Harbor Freight wins with better quality AND a "no questions asked" warranty, you know you've goofed. Milwaukee refuses warranty because I used an impact too hard, WTH?? First the 1/2" Milwaukee impact and now my 3/8" stubby have turned into paperweights and BOTH of the Harbor Freight units I replaced them with take off bolts my Milwaukee wouldn't and have NEVER failed, no intermittent trigger operation, etc. Harbor Freight for the win!!"
"I have handyman business and use some of my collection of Milwaukee power tools pretty much every day. In the last couple of years I've had to make three trips to the Milwaukee service center for issues with two well used power tools and an M12 battery. In each case the issue was resolved quickly, pleasantly and free of charge. By the way, I didn't even have receipts for any of those items and even that was no problem. I'm extremely happy with the couple dozen Milwaukee power tools that I own and with the service I've received when service was required. By the way, the complaints about the Milwaukee service center not having a complete selection of tools for sale seem a bit misplaced. It's a service center that also happens to have some tools for sale, not a fully stocked retail outlet. Why anyone would go to the service center to purchase a tool at full retail, then complain online when the service center doesn't have the specific tool that they're looking for is a bit hard to understand. If you need service on a Milwaukee tool go to the service center, but if you're looking to purchase then go to a retail outlet. It's not all that complicated."
"I've bought three tape measures and after a few months all three of them did the same thing the last six inces won't go back in the holster. I have to cram it back in the holster. Not cool Milwaukee."
"Being the only warranty location in the Atlanta area you have no choice. If you expect technical support for the tools that you spent your hard earn money, think twice. Drove 1 hour to drop off a flashlight that had the base separated. Technician told me that that it would not be covered because it had been dropped, reminded him that Milwaukee advertise the tool as impact resistant(9foot height per their advertising) and built tough. Received a call several days later that my tool was deemed not warrantable due to normal wear and tear. The estimated repair would be $63, the tool cost $79 new. Disagree with the determination and called back, was told by the technician that it was not warrantable because it was normal wear and tear , he also stated that they tested it by dropping from a height and it didn't break, I must have done something drastic. I am an airframe mechanic with 5 years experience in the Marines, 15 years experience in the automotive industry I know what drastic tool abuse is. How the hell can this guy tell me that I abuse the tool when the light didn't have but a fall from the under carriage of a vehicle no more than 4ft of the ground . My loyalty to Milwaukee is in question when their service facility has such disregard for a customer and won't stand by their products. Nothing but heavy duty until it is not."
