"Don't do it. He is a crook. "Hot Rod" aka Hot Parts. He half does work and did my brother bad with putting stock parts on a performance build that he already majorly over charged him in the first place with very little to no communication and now he has to go and buy the correct parts and hope he hasn't caused any major damage to his engine and pay someone else for labor. He reached out to Hot Rod and his response was " I did what you asked I got it running". No remorse and didn't even try to fix what he knew he did wrong. Bad business"
"LATE REVIEW: First and foremost, I trust people on their word. I meet John (body shop owner)who helped me, by tapping up my bumper that was dragging the road. He informed me that he had a body shop. Fast forward. I give him the business to repair my car. He initially stated that he could do the repairs in 2-3 days. That turned into (2) weeks & (1) day, and that was by default. I took my car in for repairs on 7-20-23, & picked it up 8-4-23.. After the rental car service notified me, that I must return the car by the close of business day (8-4-23) I reached out to John, stating that I was in route to pick up my car. He replies, he should have it ready by Sat. or Sun. Me: NO, today. John: it's ready, just need to replace the emblems. When I got my car the paint wasn't completely dry & the emblems were not attached. I was "HOT" I took a quick look at my car, discussed with him how dissatisfied I was with the the inconsistency thru out the time he's had my car. How he dropped the ball, by not keeping me updated, or returning my phone calls. I paid him, we set a date for Sun. 8-6-23..for him to meet me & replace the emblems. I left the body shop, stopped at the gas station, took another look at my car only to find out that the additional fee of $375. that he charged to ensure that my trunk would fall back in place as it should. I called him & asked why does my trunk not fall back in place as promised, & why did he not bring that to my attention. He replied that was the best he could do, due to the damages to the car. NOT, what he promised, but what he was paid to do. John, meet me on sun. as planned to replace emblems. I again discussed with him my overall disappointment in him, & I thought that he should refund me or fix the trunk. He laughed it off, stating, for additional charges, that he worked hard & thought that he could ensure the trunk would be as normal & thought he did a great job considering how much damage was done. NOT A SATISFIED CUSTOMER. Overall, my car looks pretty decent from a far. It's the trunk & the fact that he charged me extra for parts & labor. Not to mention that they would be used parts or give me that option to choose. But little does he know, I have a hidden SURPRISE that he's not aware of waiting for him. I gave a (3) star performance, but actually it should be a (2) Heads up to future customers. Do not trust this guy with your car, he is NOT a person of his word, he will drop the ball on you in many ways."
"First let me say that the actual mechanics and employees are very knowledgeable and eager to fix the projects. The issue is the “owner” HOT ROD…things started off great but then he disappears for 4 months I’m guessing he is having money issues….had my car forever with absolutely no communication. Parts he was supposed to order took him 3 months to even order…Refused to answer calls or respond to texts… never at “his” shop. then expects to get paid for work he never did. Finally when I decide to pull my car the workers tell me they have not been paid in weeks and projects are sitting because he hasn’t ordered parts."
