Reviews of Transmission Experts
"Do Not take your vehicle to this shop for transmission work. They never got our truck transmission fixed. Total time, the truck was in their shop a year. We had to take the truck to another shop and pay more money"
"I am so thankful for the crew over at Transmission Experts for fixing up my car! I highly recommend everyone check them out. I didn’t have to wait long for the repairs, they were reasonably priced, and they didn’t try to get me to purchase additional services that I didn’t need. They are trustworthy, reputable, and have been around for years!"
"ATTN POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS: I had posted a review a few days ago, admittedly, I was scathingly mad. I deleted that review and this is what we’re going to do. Let me allow for some background first. I had taking my vehicle to transmission experts as the transmission in it seemed to be going out on the highway as I was passing through Columbus. My warranty company worked with transmission experts and it was close to where I pulled off so I went to them. Like I said in my previous review I asked Edd and his team to please inspect the oil leak that was extremely obvious a multitude of times… The AWS warranty would’ve even covered anything valve or gasket related. Well now the warranty is expired as they never even looked, he admitted to me he thought I said transmission fluid… seriously? I was underneath it on a lift at the best shop in town where I live yesterday with the owner and manager. Whoever put the transmission in the truck was very sloppy. Not only is it still slipping going into third gear… I have shown video evidence of this too Edd, the manager. It was slipping as I was leaving Columbus to get on the highway… if it wasn’t a Saturday and they were already closed by the time I got there to pick it up, I would’ve driven it straight back to them. I thought maybe there was a break in period or something . When I was finally home seven hours later it was still revving up before going into third gear. Well I’m now paying another large amount of money with at least a trustworthy shop up here to get the oil leak fixed for good, no “forgetting” the wire bracket and cover as was the case with the “fully rebuilt transmission” T.E. Charged the my warranty company $3177.00 for. ATTN: POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS : I will be driving my Tahoe up to Transmission Experts from Florida in a couple weeks… I will talk with Edd in the meantime so we can set up a date, I can drop it off first thing in the morning and if I need to spend more money on a hotel I can. Hopefully they can fix the transmission and put it back in correctly this time since it has a 12,000 warranty. Talk soon Edd. And I understand mistakes happen so I am trusting Edd, the good name of TRANSMISSION EXPERTS, and his team can make this mistake that has cost me so much, right, then I will update this review to 5 stars because they stood up and corrected the situation. I will absolutely update this review in about two weeks and let you all know how they handled re-doing it correctly. Joseph Coleman White Tahoe"
"We brought our car to Transmission Experts because we were told we needed a torque converter but wanted them to confirm this. The next call we received said that they had ordered the part in addition to a throttle body but it would take two weeks before we could get the car back. When we picked the car up and it still skipped like it was before. They had driven the car over 100 miles, the car was filthy. Mud on the outside and black grease on the inside. The engine casing was gone and the tire flap was torn up. Also, the car was no longer aligned. We brought it back to the shop and they told us that we needed to go somewhere else and it would only cost $99. They were the ones who caused the car not to be aligned but refused to fix it. We were charged over $2700 and the car was worse than when it was dropped off. We have asked about the engine casing and he will not even return our calls. Please do not use this shop, you will be sorry."
"I took my vehicle in and trusted they would be able to identify what was causing the issue and fix it. Once I got it back, it ran well for about a week before the exact same issue came back. I then took it in again and they said it must’ve been an oil leak that caused the issue, rather than what they had fixed previously. Again, when I got the vehicle back, it ran well for about a week and the issue came right back. I finally decided to take my vehicle to another shop, where they identified what was actually wrong with it and they were able to fix it for good. Long story short, I spent about $1500 on vehicle repairs that failed to fix the problem. I felt ripped off and that the mechanics just guess on what needs fixed rather than working to identify the underlying problem. On a positive note, the owner/manager is a generally nice guy, but that’s the only good thing about this place. I do not recommend."
