Reviews of Hartson Kennedy, Inc.
"Countertops are very reasonable"
"Dealing with this company has been a headache since the start. I placed an order through Lowes Hardware online back on September 11th. It is currently January 27th and I still don't have any countertops. I have had to stay on them from the beginning to even get the countertops into fabrication. If I'm not mistaken, they didn't start working on them until the beginning of November, where I was given a 6-8 week lead time. The 6-8 weeks came and went so I had to call their customer service line again only to be told that they "thought" it was done but would get back to me. Two weeks later I'm told that my countertops are done but they aren't sure why I haven't been contacted by the installer but they assured me that if I didn't hear from them, to call them back. Sure enough I never heard anything back from the installer after a week goes by so when I called Hartson Kennedy, they now tell me that they will no longer take customer service calls so the pawned me off on a 3rd party... The 3rd party then called Hartson Kennedy back and I get the same ole same ole of "a voicemail has been left" and if I don't hear anything by Monday at lunch to call back. Long story short, if you're not looking to actually get your product or enjoy being pushed around and not given answers, you will probably have a better experience than I have had!! Save your money and go elsewhere."
"Good customer service. They don't install. Spend just a little one and drive down the street to Solid Works and get granite counter tops installed! Their laminate is waaaaayyy over priced and they don't install."
"Recently bought countertops for my kitchen. Initially, customer service was fine. I live about 45 minutes from Hartson Kennedy. I’m not a contractor and have little experience with countertops. After picking up my countertops I looked them over and did the best inspection I could. Once I got them home and installed, I set my sink in place to check the fit. This is where I ran into problems. I have them precise measurements for the sink cutout, but one of the four corners wasn’t cut properly and didn’t allow the sink to drop in place. I discovered this on a Friday so this put a stop to my hole project, through the weekend, until I could get this issue fixed. I assumed I could contact the company and they’d send someone out or offer some kind of assistance to fix the issue. Instead, they told me I had to uninstall my countertop and bring the piece back to them to fix the bad cut in the corner. Prior to this, I sent them pictures that clearly showed isn’t wasn’t a measurement issue on my part and that they just left too much counter top in one corner. I’ve never cut laminate and explained to them that I may have to purchase a jigsaw, if I were to cut it myself. To me, I would think a company that made a mistake, would go out of their way to fix the issue. Instead they only offered to fix it if I brought it back to them. They could’ve sent someone out or offered a partial refund, but did neither. Now, after paying them a few hundred dollars and getting something that won’t even work for my sink, without out further modifications, I’m stuck with dealing with it myself. No one was ever rude to me, but if you ever deal with this company, triple check your measurements before you leave their facility because you will have to do all future leg work if there’s an issue down the road. Lastly, I could’ve simply order my countertops online from anywhere, but I wanted to shop local because I assumed it would be an easier process if I ran into problems down the road. I assumed wrong and it’s unfortunate. No way I would do business with them again."
"Just make sure you get every single word in writing. I am stuck with the cost and countertops that won't fit my space due to employee error but there is no proof only conversation and the company wont make it right."
