"Takes forever to get an estimate or even get in contact with anyone. Had two other estimates before I ever got a return call from here. Slow & craftsmanship is bad in our new home. Will be doing warranty work for several areas of carpet."
"Smith Douglas should reconsider using this company for flooring installation, etc. Their craftsmanship is horrible!!! I've called them during and after my warranty regarding issues with our carpet buckling/lifting in some areas. They also had to replace our flooring in some areas during our warranty. After your warranty expires, they don't give a DAM and basically the homeowner is left to deal with it. Take ownership of your DEFECTIVE work!!! I asked them to escalate to the owners, they respond with" Your warranty has ended. We can come out, but you will pay ." The negative reviews are TRUE. Think twice before using this company. 3.8 rating says it all. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau."
"We had our basement carpet pulled out and replaced with vinyl. The team was punctual, they worked hard and long hours keeping the work area clean and removing unwanted carpet. The job was done with excellence and professionalism. Canโt express how delighted we are with our new floor. Highly recommended!"
"Have been pending resolution on issues with LVP flooring (filed within 1 year warranty) for 4 months. Initial response from Cartersville Flooring was that issues were result of chair scraping the floor. The floor was buckling in places, ends curling up, peeling, and chipped in other spots. Explained they should have history of a claim since sections of the flooring had to be replaced and a claim filed with Shaw before we moved into our new construction home due to peeling. They then came and used what we had leftover of the flooring (handful of planks) to replace worst areas but those boards were defective by sight, with end torn and peeling, and final pieces were not attempted for this reason. Disappointed in the lack of escalation to gain results for their customers from the builder Smith Douglas and Cartersville flooring."
"UPDATE: They have been very accommodating to fix all of the ongoing problems with this flooring. Some joints on the planks keep separating, and they have been out once to replace those planks. ------ I would love to be able to recommend this company....BUT, I can't recommend them just because they are nice. Scott and Lynn were nice, but quality of work is another story. We bought a house where Cartersville flooring did the install. The LVP flooring installed had spaces in it and it was determined that it needed to be replaced. At the same time, there were also ripples in the concrete that needed to be grounded flat. Install day came and they started ripping the flooring out, only to tell me that even if they grind the concrete, there will still be visible ripples because the flooring is so thin. So, we were prepared and had the house prepped only to be told that all the work they were doing wasn't going to fix the problem UNLESS we upgraded to a better floor. They told us this AS they were ripping the flooring out. I really feel they did this as a sale/scare tactic on an unsuspecting homeowner who didn't know anything about flooring. We weren't prepared to spend $1700.00 but decided if we couldn't see the ripples it would be worth it. We were told that by installing a floor with an underlayment we wouldn't see the ripples. (They conveniently left out the part where we would still FEEL the ripples when we walk.) So we chose a style, they ripped out the rest of the flooring and laid cardboard flooring, until we got the new flooring 3 days later. 2 weeks later, I had them come back because we had parts of the flooring that were sticking to old glue underneath and making a clicking sound. This resulted from them not using underlayment all the way to the edge of the cabinets, walls, or stairs. So their solution was to come back and push the flooring all the way to the floor and nail the shoe mold in place, thereby bending the flooring in parts. I have literally lost sleep over this whole process. When we walk, we can hear the underlayment crinkle as we walk, as it sticks to the old glue they didn't scrape off underneath. And there are soft spots where the flooring moves as we walk where the underlayment appears to have gaps, or there's a ripple they didn't want to grind. I have called Lynn and Scott multiple times and left messages, and days go by without a reply, when I've been told someone will call me. Today, they came to install the transition strip between the flooring and carpet upstairs. Instead of just gluing it down, they also used nails, so we can see and feel the nails, perfect to catch on socks or clothing, and it looks terrible. And the installer cut part of the carpet out, installed the transition strip, then told me carpet people needed to come back out to stretch the carpet and tuck it under the strip HE JUST NAILED DOWN. How in the world are they going to get the carpet under there? I feel like this is the last nail in the coffin. Literally. This whole install has been sloppy workmanship and I feel completely helpless. Aesthetically, the flooring looks great. I have found a crack in the flooring in a bathroom, soft spots when we walk, edges of the planks we can feel where it feels like it bows, and hear crinkles when we walk. I feel like I have been patronized and ignored. I have been friendly and courteous to everyone. I know how hard customer service is to work in. But, I genuinely feel like when things get complicated and messed up, they would rather ignore my calls and questions, then truly try to make it right."
