"Will we ever have any more remodeling work done to our home interior? That was the question that kept going through my head while selecting a contractor to perform our first remodel since we had the house built in 1991. The decision for future, much needed work, hinged on this first choice in contractors. Would it be a disaster? Would they listen? Would they turn the ideas we had into reality? "After completing his latest project for us Richard Slater remarked that Slater Discount Flooring had completed so many projects in our current home over the years that we can consider our house officially "Slaterized." Before purchasing the spacious home we have occupied in the North GA mountains for now more than a decade, Richard and his highly professional artisans had remodeled the master bath and a powder room for the previous owners, installing a beautiful rustic stone shower, counter tops and sinks. When we purchased the home we sought him out again, based on Slater's stellar reputation in this region, to refinish our pine floors. He did a highly professional job that continues to look brand new today, some ten years later. Recently we experienced a flood in our carpeted finished basement. After cleanup and removal of the carpet we decided to install flooring that would be as close as we could get to completely waterproof. We returned to Slater and consulted Tammy who recommended porcelain tile as the most reliable choice for that purpose. We selected a wood grain pattern of tile plank that remarkably resembles the real thing. Donnie Meyer was sent to install the tile, and we cannot say enough good things about this man. He was efficient, highly skilled and professional, and very conscientious, kind and courteous. He said "I'm only as good as my last project, so I want this one to be perfect." And it is. The result is a masterpiece, a true work of art. Richard personally came by to inspect the finished product and approved, and assured me that he and his company continue to stand behind their work and will promptly respond if we should have any problems or concerns. Everyone at Slater who shepherded us through this project proved to be friendly, courteous, polite, helpful and professional, including Tammy, Christy, Elijah and Tasha. The price for materials and labor was quite fair, and the project was begun and completed weeks sooner than originally estimated, a testament to Slater's dedication to working diligently with their customers to meet special needs. Despite ours being a decidedly small project compared to some of the huge flooring projects we understand Slater takes on for regional hospitals and such, I feel that throughout our project we were treated with the same personal courtesy, caring and respect that one might expect would be reserved for those larger clients. Slater is a long-established family company that seems to make everyone they serve feel equally special. When you combine that with their tradition of high quality materials, excellent craftsmanship and a stellar constellation of administrative staff and highly skilled artisans, you have a tremendously hard act to follow. I highly recommend Slater Discount Flooring to anyone in the North Georgia region who is seeking excellent quality wood or tile flooring installation or refinishing as well as installation of counters and showers. I suspect they will continue to remain at the top of their field as long as Richard has anything to say about it and continues to use artisans such as Donnie Meyer to complement his solidly established reputation for high quality craftsmanship and service."

"Fantastic results and exquisite craftsmanship in a kitchen update. Slater Floors went above and beyond to ensure a very successful outcome. We are extremely satisfied with the results…everything is absolutely perfect. Richard and Tasha were responsive to the many delays due to the many changes in the installation date of our new range - clearly a supply chain issue during the pandemic. The date of arrival of our range was changed many times by Wolf and finally was delivered by the “new” installation date without a great deal of lead time. Through this, the coordination for the installation of the backsplash and the installation of the range was perfect because of the flexibility and responsiveness of Slater Floors. Our new backsplash is gorgeous for two reasons: Donnie’s incredible installation skills and because Slater Floors went above and beyond to ensure we selected the perfect tile for our kitchen. Due to the efforts made by Slater Floors, our kitchen’s aesthetics are timeless, functional and visually pleasing. We enjoy our new kitchen daily, have received many complements and know that this worthwhile investment will pay off in true enjoyment as well as in the future.
