"Unfortunately there were some major problems with this purchase. The calculator on this company’s website is drastically incorrect (we needed 50% more wool than it calculated). Our calculations were triple checked and also messaged the company directly to make sure we got the right amount of wool (because this product and the shipping are very expensive). We had to order an extra 3 bales of wool and pay for shipping again due to this mistake (an extra $4369). It was already a stretch to spend this much more on insulation but now due to this error, we are under significant financial stress. It also needs to be stressed with instructions from the company how important it is that you let the wool ‘relax’ and blow it in with small pieces of wool. We did this but still ran very short. We had 3 men spend 75 hours making sure to get this wool blown in correctly (following their procedure also with the leaf blower recommended by the company). The process works well and the wool is a good product, it just takes a long time to do this. We had purchased some extra (than the calculator said) for this project and we had some on hand for another project. But we still ran out (needed 50% more like I said) so it also caused problems with our construction. We didn’t have enough to blow into our rafters but we still had to close in our roof with ridge cap to protect from weather. Due to this error, we had to reopen our ridge caps (and purchase new ridge caps) to blow in more sheep’s wool when the second shipment came in. Other aspects of working with this company were also poor. It was estimated the shipment would take 1 week to arrive to us in shipment and it took several weeks. The company’s communication is also poor and sometime it took days for them to get back to me or confirm something. Also, their phone number on one place on their website is wrong and I notified them and see that several months later, it is still not changed. Although, we are happy with the wool product, for many reasons I do not recommend doing business with this company."
"Everything about the experience of using Wool Life exceeded our expectations. We worked with 2 bales of the blow in wool for our tiny house DIY build and had FUN doing so. Joseph, the representative we worked with was more than accommodating to our needs and was very responsive with our questions. We can rest better knowing our walls are filled with a great clean alternative to traditional insulation. If you are looking for a clean natural insulation to have fun with, Wool Life is highly recommend here!"
"Great company with a great product! I ordered ~1,300lbs (six bales) of loose wool for insulating my attic and some interior walls (for soundproofing). The change in acoustic transmission through the house, as well as my monthly energy consumption, has seen a huge improvement. This was one of several major improvements I have done to this old house, all centered around sustainability and low-maintenance living. I'm very happy with the product and service I received from Wool Life and I highly recommend them and their wool! I bought a $70 Toro leaf blower + vacuum from Home Depot and some corrugated tubing (which I taped to the end of the blower) to blow the wool into place. The blower had zero issues with clogging when fed properly and it blew the wool a good distance out the end of the tubing. Very easy and cost-effective install for both the attic and wall/floor spaces. One thing to note is that no insulation experts that I spoke with were even aware of wool as an option! They were all hugely skeptical of this product but it has worked as well as I expected. 10/10 product and experience that I will absolutely employ again on any other home that I may own in the future - especially if I ever build new! This stuff is amazing!"
"This is my first time working with a wool insulation and it was great. I enjoyed the batten 6 x 8 sheets of 2 inch thickness and also the blown type loose insulation. I used this insulation for the walls of my van and I can already notice the difference as both a sound and heat barrier. I would highly recommend this product!"
"Insulation came today and it was just like Christmas. What a great company to work with. Their customer service rep, Joseph Cathcart, was there for me with every question or concern that I had. He even went out of his way to give me prices and other suggestions on tools to use, etc. I would definitely recommend wool insulation to everyone and definitely from this company."
