"Conn's has horrible customer service and their employees do not have proper training on their products and processes. On July 7, 2023 I went in-store and saw a lamp I wanted to purchase. They really just make you order the products online and have them shipped. I received the lamp in a timely manner. As you can see in the photos, the lamp was previously returned from another customer (they mistakenly left the return ticket in the box). I had no problem with a returned item since it was only a lamp. But the lamp and shade was damaged. The lamp was tarnished in places, missing a screw cover, and the shade was bent in several places. I took it to the store and spoke with the manager on duty, Stephen Edmond. They had multiple lamps on display in store. I asked if I could just swap out the lamp, but was told no. He also would not accept the damaged lamp in store. Since it was Saturday, he said he would contact the warehouse on Monday and give me a call. He asked that I email him my receipt and photos of the damaged lamp. I did this from the parking lot before leaving. I never received a call that Monday so I contacted the store a few days later and was told he was in a meeting. I left my name and number and was then told he would call me as soon as he got out of the meeting. Again, no returned call. I emailed Stephen Edmond and Corporate with my complaint with no response. I contacted Conn's via the 800 customer service number. I was told I would have to return the lamp in-store. I explained that the store would not accept the return. They said they would investigate and call me back. Again, there was no follow-up. I called back days later and spoke to a supervisor, explained my frustration, and advised that I wanted a refund or replacement lamp ASAP. He sent me a FedEx label and of course I had to take the time out of my day to repackage the lamp and drop it off. He said once I drop it off he would see that info in his system and immediately send me a replacement. But the replacement was not sent until I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor again. And please note, when you request a supervisor you will be told that no one is available and they have to submit a ticket for a call back (I was told this by two different reps). I had to hang up and call back to get a different customer service representative to finally get assistance. I received the replacement lamp on yesterday August 4, 2023 and guess what.... The knob is bent so it's hard to turn and the bottom plate is not straight. At this point I'm keeping the lamp and moving on. I have spent way too much of my time on a $150 lamp. I saw a $2,500 patio set that I love in-store and was planning on purchasing, but there is no way I would spend that amount of money knowing that if there is a problem I may not be able to get any resolution. It should not take 30 days to get a good product (especially a lamp), which I still never received since the new lamp is defective as well."
