"Although I've used Sam for over a year, I've decided not to use him anymore. He is brusque and prejudiced in his dealings with me. This last visit he told me that I must pay upfront for his service. Where does one pay for shoe repair, dry cleaning, restaurant etc BEFORE service is rendered? I mentioned that he had not required upfront payment before and he said "things change". He also behaved like he did not know me. So, I will take my business elsewhere to a place that values and respects its customers."

"If I could give Sam, the owner a zero I would. I’m posting this negative review to help anyone that’s considering his business. I told Sam I would be doing so before I left. Beware of Sam. He deliberately ripped the sole off my black leather boot. Most of the positive reviews he had were from years ago and in my haste I didn’t pay attention. He didn’t get my business and the customer that witnessed our exchange told me after we left she would NOT be doing anymore business with him. Yesterday on 1/15/24, I went to Sam’s Shoe a repair on Lawrenceville Highway, Lawrenceville, GA to get three pair of boots repaired. I greeted him twice with a hello. The first time he was at the shoe machine so maybe he didn’t hear me. The second time he was at the counter. He never greeted me. What made me angrier was having a 11 year old child with me and the customer’s child witness Sam’s bad behavior. He was more concerned with me asking him what he considered a negative statement such as is there anything you can do to fix this? Maybe that was a valid statement since he is a shoe repairman and said he could do anything. He looked at the first pair of boots and gave me an estimate of $50. He looked at the second pair and said he could fix them, he could do anything. No estimate. Well I guess he got offended when I asked him about how he would fix the tips of the sole on black leather boots. The tip of the toes were thin and one was slightly lifted. The other was not. He said he would need to build them up and I wanted to know what that entailed. He said lady you have old stuff. Are we going to do business or not. Then he looked me in the face and ripped back the sole on the other black boot. At that point I grabbed my boots and left the shop while telling him that was a nasty move. As his wise former customer said to me before we parted, “some people aren’t worth your energy”. So true."

"High praise for Sam's Shoe repair! Sam repaired the heels on my L.L. Bean leather boots, which I've had for years. He also took the time to help me find a comfortable insert to give me more inside arch support. Sam finished by giving them a beautiful shine! A friend of mine asked if they were new boots because they look so good! In addition to all of that excellent service on my boots, Sam helped me find a good insert for another pair of shoes, and stretched them a little to help them fit my foot better. I accidentally left my debit card at his shop and he called to let me know, and then he quickly did the job on my boots on the same day so I could pick them up when I went back to get my card. AWESOME place to get shoes repaired! Thank you Sam!!!"
