"We have been wanting to try this place since they first opened on the square. However, I do not know where to start as this was VERY disappointing from the cocktails to the food. For food, we had the cheese curds and jambalaya pasta and both items were just not good. As for drinks, I had the margarita special and it was ok, nothing spectacular! The prices on the menu do not match the food as they are very expensive for the quality you receive!"
"Very good food! My husband loves the fish and chips. The burger is great, so are the ribs. Great mai tai! Delicious strawberry shake! My only complaint is that it is so dark. I wish the house lighting would be brought up a tad, but otherwise, this is a fantastic add to the Square"
"Three Roses Tavern is a restaurant sports bar located in the beautiful Marietta Square. It is definitely a more upscale sports bar that I have been to. There's plenty of TV to watch any sporting events. If you like to hang out with friends, drink beer, and watch sports in a cool and hype environment, this is a great place. The atmosphere is pretty relaxing. Also, the service is good. Our waiter was nice and friendly. I can't complain about that. My only "complaint" is some of the food could be better. Here's my opinion on the food. 1. Chicken fried chicken was salty. However, the whipped Yukon gold potatoes were good. 2. Jambalaya pasta was salty. There were no nuances of flavor. All you tasted was the salt. 3. The Hawaiian braised ribs were bland. You could just taste the sauce on top, but it did not taste like it had been marinated in the ginger sauce. The Wasabi green beans were good. My recommendations: 1. The hamburgers and fries were tasty."
"Although I’m not a sports bar person and never go to restaurants without reading menus in advance (they opened before having a website or social media presence), I’m glad I checked it out and will definitely be back because I have to try their fish and chips and carpaccio! The atmosphere: not too loud for a sports bar, which was nice. Waaaay bigger than you’d expect inside. The big screen is HUGE, and I’m secretly hoping for occasional romantic movie dinners or chick flick mimosa brunches with that big, beautiful screen. There were a lot of different places to sit, two bars, private booths, large group seating, etc. Rhys was our server and made good recommendations. The drinks: we got the Greenfield (skinny margarita), Raspberry Lime Gin and Tonic, Three Roses Bourbon Aperol, and Siesta. The siesta was my favorite, but I was surprised at how well the bourbon/aperol drink really worked. The food: started with calamari with pickled fried jalapeños, fried shaved vegetables, marinara and garlic aioli. Very generous portion and well-priced. We were pretty full after splitting it between two people, but ambitiously ordered more food. My husband got the flat iron steak with horseradish mashed potatoes and truffle butter. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium-rare, as requested. The horseradish mashed potatoes were soooo good! I said “I like the sauce” when I tried his, but I don’t think there was a sauce; just a tasty combo of truffle butter, steak juice, and horseradish mash! I got the chicken-fried chicken with mushroom gravy, and it was very tasty though I liked my husband’s horseradish potatoes better than my plain ones and was jealous and stole too many of his. My favorite bar food is Buffalo shrimp, but I didn’t order it because I thought it was weird that the appetizer was $18 while the fried shrimp entree with more shrimp, fries and slaw was only $19. So I figured it was either overpriced or a ton of shrimp, and I wanted to save some room. But I might try it…after I try the carpaccio, fish and chips, oysters Rockefeller, and burger…omg, so many things I like to eat!"
"We’ve been speculating for quite some time what this restaurant was going to bring to the square (the sign out front was not our favorite)… Well, make no mistake about it, this restaurant is incredibly well done. I was expecting a “sports bar” what we got was much more of a high-end restaurant with LOTS of TVs. The TV on the back wall is huge! The owners did an A+ job with the renovation and interior of the restaurant. I was in awe walking in at how nice everything is inside - from the wine bar in the front (feels like a separate establishment), to the main bar, the booths, mirrors, TVs, and everything else - absolutely perfect. Almost too perfect. For it being the first night, the staff did a very nice job. Waitress was friendly, had recommendations, and delivered good service. The menu design made it tempting to try every dish. While we may not have accomplished that, we did order numerous dishes and left with lots of food. Apps - the beef carpaccio was fantastic and a very pleasant surprise. The chicken wings were some of the best I’ve had in my time in Atlanta (buffalo, mild spice). Mains - fish and chips were outstanding. If they keep serving that level of fish and chips, it’s going to become one of their most popular dishes. The French dip, definitely on the pricey side, but it was a very good sandwich. The jambalaya pasta was definitely a jambalaya and was loaded up with shrimp, chicken, and sausage. The sauce could use a little more punch and robustness but this was still a great dish. Overall, I think Three Roses is a smashing success, and is instantly one of the best restaurants around. My wife and I will 100% be back (over and over again)."
