"This is my first and last time visiting a Jos A Bank. The workers of color at this location that look like me definitely don’t treat their fellow black brothers and sister with the same customer service as their counterpart. My parents brought me some pants from their online website, unfortunately I couldn’t fit them, so I returned them to the store. Upon visiting the store, I walk up to the register and a black older gentlemen immediately gives me a look of disgust. I shrug it off and tell him that my parents brought me some pants for Christmas that I can’t wear and I need to return them. He immediately walks away from the counter and replies he needs to get a manager not telling me why he couldn’t process the return. Upon walking to get a manager a Caucasian party were in the store and he immediately stops and start helping them. Afterwards he speaks to another black gentlemen who I assume is a manager in regards to my return that person says something to him a goes back in to back room. At this point 15 minutes have passed by and more people have entered into the store wanting to return items. A lady Caucasian sales associate walks to the front and ask me am I being helped the older black associate hears the conversation and immediately heads back to the front and cuts in the conversation and replies someone is coming. After waiting 10 more minutes a black lady walks out who I’m assume is a manager. Instead of processing my returns she start assisting another Caucasian customer in a store with a purchase. All the while I’m still staying patient as to not act out of character because at this point I just want to process return and never step foot into another Jos A Bank again. 10 minutes later another black gentleman walks to the counter who I assume is also a manager he asks who is next in line as he thought it was the Caucasian women behind me who tells him he is next. He makes a frown look his face as if he doesn’t want to help. I give him my return and tell him I can’t fit the pants my parents brought. He takes the return and walks to another register never acknowledging me. At this point he is at register appearing to let process my return when another Caucasian customer enters the store and proceed to head to his register with a return. He stops mid way through my return to start keying in the other gentleman. At that point my patient went out the window and I walked to the register to ask the gentleman if is he processing my return he walks away from register replying I’m processing both returns (mines and the Caucasian gentlemen who just walked in). The Caucasian gentlemen apologies to me not realizing I was in line. The black gentleman who I assume was also a manager comes back with a sheet of paper and rudely slides it across the counter telling me that since it’s an online order they can’t process the return in-store and they would have to ship it back which takes 10 days to process. Then he walks away and happily starts to assist the Caucasian gentleman that had the return. Having worked in retail I knew that was not correct so I called the corporate number and they told me that the return could have been processed in the store since it was a little $100 and they also were bewildered as to why they didn’t do that but once I explain the situation they read in between the lines. I also made a complaint about the treatment I received being a person of color from the people that worked there who were also my color. People need to be careful how you treat others and perceive/stereotype them. I have a CPA, a Masters Degree in Accounting and a great career. I’m confident there is an abyss difference between my salary and his and I could easily go in the store and buy up suites being someone who works in a corporate environment without an employee discount. As bad a the economy is you should be glad people spend their time and money coming to your establishment because that is what keep you in business. There are a lot of big retailers going out of business and Jos A Bank is not an exception."
"My family and I have consistently gotten the most amazing service from this location for years. Tafari and Aaron are two of the best. I frequently wait till I’m in Atlanta (I now live in DC) to purchase from this specific store. My fiancée and I were there yesterday to get my tuxedo for our wedding and it was a fantastic experience thanks to Aaron."
"Asia helped us coordinate the custom tuxedo look my husband and I were to use during our wedding. She also helped coordinate the looks and measurements required for our groomsmen. The process was simple, on time, and we LOVED our tuxes. We are grateful for your support!!"
"If I could leave a negative 10 that would be more appropriate. I went to purchase some shirts and one did not have a price tag on it. I asked the sales person if he could get me a price. His response was no! What! He said, I'd have to leave the shirt they'd contact someone for the price and I'd need to come back to purchase it. By the way, the tone that was used by the salesman was quite rude. He did get a manger after he 1st refused to get one. I explained I wanted a price and he said I'd need to come back. He denied saying anything he did and started screaming in the store I was a lier. I've never in my life seen an associate screaming at a customer like he did. I called corporate while I was there and they really didn't care. Obviously they get calls all the time with upset customers. I will say the man who took over said he was the manager was really kind and tried to make things right. By then my husband called me and said put everything back and never buy anything from that company again. I do want to thank the young man who tried to make things right. I do hope the salesman that was screaming at me is seriously reprimanded for his actions."
"Inefficient and terrible service. Never going back here again. Purchased six suits for my groomsman but found out afterwards that their measurements had to be collected at this store so that the suits can be ordered. Once ordered, the suits would arrive at this store and they would be shipped out to each individual in which case the groomsman still had to tailor it. What’s the point of setting up a group number and having several branches across the nation with stockpile of suits? It would make more sense if each individual went to a nearby store then use the group number to see which suit was purchased then take the measurement and tailor the suit at that store. But the suits were purchased and since Jos A Bank likes to be inefficient I waited for the suits to arrive at this store. I was told the suits would arrive in a week but after a week there was no communication and no way of tracking the suits. After being put on hold for over 20 min the salesperson said he would look into it and call me back within an hour. After two hours he called back to tell me he didn’t know the status since he wasn’t the one that made the sale. I went back to the store and after waiting for over 15 min the initial salesperson finally acknowledged me and told me that 5 of the 6 suits were not shipped out because the last one did not arrive until that day. Each suit is to different addresses so why wait to ship them out all together? I was told the suits would be shipped out that afternoon but was not shipped out until the day after. The groomsman finally received the suit in which it came in a box not even placed in a suit bag but thrown in like a laundry! The quality of the suit was terrible. Seams torn, loose threads, and stitchings falling apart. Each groomsman had to take it to their nearby store and exchange it out. SUCH UNPROFESSIONALISM, QUALITY, AND INEFFICIENCY!"
