"This organization did an abysmal job of managing the finances of a relative. While one can understand that they (RJ) do not have a fiduciary responsibility to their clients, one would expect the common courtesy and/or decency of letting their clients know that they have significant debts in a high interest margin account that could be easily covered with existing holdings. The RJ representative did not do this (for years) but admitted after the fact, "I probably should have said something" once the matter came to light. Obviously, we are all responsible for our own finances. Nonetheless, if you are not a savvy investor or familiar with the market, I would advise you to steer clear of this brokerage. They are not your friend. Clearly, this is my opinion based upon what I've observed. I have had relationships with many different brokerages, and I have never seen such poor stewardship of someone's investments. I cannot in good conscience recommend for anyone to invest with these people. You have been warned."
