"I love Panera, but this one sucks. They are out of EVERYTHING. (like how are you going to be out of butter? its a panera BREAD) Always slower than the expected preparation time and only read special instructions half the time. I really want it to improve because I love having a Panera on campus, but their staff sucks and they don't show signs of even caring about their customers. Oh yeah and over $3 for a fountain drink is ABSURD!"
"In two years of being in Auburn, I've never heard anything good about this location, but I needed a quick snack so I decided to finally give it a try. Here's what I discovered. First of all, just like Hey Day market across the street, they don't accept cash--which was my intended method of payment. Secondly, it's online orders only--which as a newcomer, you don't find out about until you walk to the counter. So your first human interaction with a Panera Bread employee is disappointment and rejection. Before you even get to order, there's that weird post-covid vibe where you walk into a crowded restaurant lobby that has no food in sight and everyone is sitting around staring at their phones. But I guess we're supposed to accept this as the new normal. Another problem is that they were out of multiple items. Understandable. It happens. The key factor is how management handles this situation. Instead of putting a sign out or making an announcement to the hungry humans sitting in the lobby, they waited for each customer to come up one-by-one and ask why their item was missing from the bag. This is carelessness at best, or blatant disregard for the customer's time and needs at worst. There is no excuse for this. Why is it that Chik-Fil-A and other neighboring restaurants can get it so right while this Panera gets it so wrong for so long? Attention Auburn students: If you calmly boycotted this store for 5 business days in a row, I bet they would get their act together quick fast in a hurry. Very easy solution to implement for this problem."
"the rudest employees ever. ESPECIALLY that one older lady who usually fills up the tea or coffee WHAT A RUDE PERSON. why does she even work there? she acts like she is being forced to work there with the rudest mean attitude to any question asked, no matter how polite you are to her. shame on her. what does she want? if you do not like your work then leave and don't punish others."
"I love Panera Bread, just like other Auburn students. But this specific location in the library can be an absolute hassle. Customer service is unprofessional and very inattentive. They are swamped due to a lot of orders around lunchtime, but so is Chick-fil-A, and they do it efficiently with the partnership of GrubHub, which has a reasonable ETA to know exactly when to pick up your order, others around me that were waiting to get there food ordered early in the morning and they still did not receive there food on time due to the mass rush of orders they receive. There definitely needs to be a change of management or possibly need to close and regroup and make things more efficient or find a better alternative so orders can be processed and given accordingly. I noticed lack of work ethic and unhelpful customer service skills that are just not helpful for anyone because people are hungry. At least I got refunded."
"As a coffee shop Panera Bread is ok, they can't do 12oz lattes and the espresso they use is nothing special. However, the staff is still very friendly and recognizes the regulars, they also have a very large selection of pastries and food. Be mindful of peak dining hours because the line can get fairly long but it moves pretty quickly and they get food out at a decent rate."
