Reviews of JA Lil New Orleans
"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lil New Orleans, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. The star of the show was undoubtedly Chef Joe Vance and his exceptional staff, who went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. To start off our meal, we decided to indulge in the Boudin balls for our appetizer. These delicious bites were perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with flavorful and tender boudin sausage. It was a delightful way to kick off our culinary journey. The kids opted for hamburgers, which were cooked to perfection. Juicy and flavorful, these hamburgers satisfied their cravings and left them with smiles on their faces. Lil New Orleans truly knows how to cater to all tastes and preferences. As for the main course, we had the pleasure of trying a variety of dishes. The blackened pork chops were a standout, cooked to perfection with a flavorful and smoky exterior. The meat was tender and juicy, leaving us wanting more with each bite. We also indulged in the crawfish étouffée, a classic Louisiana dish that did not disappoint. The rich and flavorful sauce perfectly complemented the tender crawfish, creating a harmonious blend of flavors that danced on our taste buds. To end our meal on a sweet note, we decided to take the chess pie and bread pudding to go. The chess pie was a delightful treat, with its buttery and flaky crust and sweet, custard-like filling. The bread pudding was equally delightful, with its warm and comforting flavors. Overall, our experience at Lil New Orleans was nothing short of exceptional. The outstanding culinary skills of Chef Joe Vance and the warm and attentive service from his staff truly elevated our dining experience. If you're looking for a taste of New Orleans right in your own backyard, I highly recommend paying a visit to Lil New Orleans. You won't be disappointed."
"THE BEST fried green tomatoes I’ve EVER had. The crawfish etouffee was AMAZING! Great service!!"
"Giselle, sorry if I spelled it incorrectly, was our waitress. She's great! The food is so good and flavorful. We tried the red velvet cheesecake and it was so friggin good."
"The most authentic cajun food that we have had outside of Louisiana. The boudin balls were delicious, the cajun platter, as well as the shrimp and grits are well worth the drive. Don't sleep on this one, just get in you car and head on over! !!Update 10.01.2023 - After suggesting JA Lil New Orleans to everyone that would listen, we finally had a chance to take my son and his fiancé for a late lunch. Unfortunately, this was far from the great experience we had on our initial visit. Here are some of the problems we encountered. 1) The fried green tomatoes were undercooked leaving them with a pale breading, and rock hard. 2) The bread served with everyone's entrees was stale and had had a slight odor. 3) My cajun platter was pretty much inedible, with fish that seemed a little past its prime and crawfish tails that tasted like they weren't cleaned before frying. I ate about a 1/4 of my meal and left the rest. 4) The crawfish etouffee ordered by another of our group was tremendously salty. While not a total bust, as the boudin balls were still very tasty. They served as the bright spot of the meal. It appeared that the kitchen staff had changed from our first visit to this one, as the quality of the food was strikingly different. We are still up to give JA's another try due to the awesome meal we were served on our first trip. Hopefully we just picked a bad day. I will provide an update the next time we visit."
