"The doctors and nurses here are very good and competent. However the office staff is trash. Calls go straight to voicemail, and are never returned. Once called six times in one day, left messages with the requested information, days later not a single phonecall. Expect to here "they're training" as the excuse over and over and over and over again. Apparently the whole office staff has been "in training" since 2019. Nobody seems to know what anybody else is doing and the people answering the phone can't seem to even write down people's names correctly. If you can get an appointment then the doctors are great but with their office staff that's a very, very big if."
"They have horrible communication. I was told that my doctor was leaving the office and would not have any available time for my procedure. Then I was called to be given a two day notice about doing my procedure. Could not tell enough people to never go here!"
"Read the reviews. According to the reviews, this place is known to try to scam and get more money on individuals. My experience with them has been the same. I had an appointment in early 2023. I provided insurance information before the appointment (it was collected at the office). This place was and is still in-network with my insurance agency. For 3 months, I received bills in the mail stating that I had to pay the amount in full (and that they did not file with my insurance). I tried calling multiple times and either couldn't get connected to the billing department, was hung up on, or was told that my insurance wasn't on file and that I needed to pay the full amount. I reached out directly to my healthcare insurance agency and they said that because the location was in-network, that they were required to file a claim (as part of their in-network agreement) before billing me. An agent with my insurance called Digestive Healthcare of Georgia directly and told them this. I waited a few weeks and still no claim. Finally I call again and get connected to someone who 1) confirms that they have my insurance on file, and 2) confirms that they did not file a claim with insurance. I'm still receiving mail saying that I am overdue for the original bill. I tell them that they need to file a claim with my insurance agency or I am no longer responsible for the bill (it's part of their in-network agreement). Well finally, over 4 months after the visit, they file the claim. What do you know? I'm responsible for less than 10% of the original bill. I'm still getting paperwork saying that I owe the original bill, AND paperwork showing the new bill. I pay the new amount and disregard the old amount considering I can see that my insurance cut them a check for the rest of the cost. Now here we are, 4 months after that fact and I am receiving letters that they sent the original bill to collections. Luckily I have all of the paperwork (receipts paid and claim information from my insurance site) that show that I am not responsible for the bill. But still, it is a very shady practice and seems like I am not the only one who is/has gone through this. They get a 1-star (wish I could give 0) on the billing department alone, and the visit was less than helpful (the doctor basically said to come back in 6 months and then he can help me). Stay far away from this place."
"They charge you for use of facility. I get a big bill. Piedmont is bad about extra charges. It's why don't like Piedmont in the first place. My doctor was awesome and great staff. Just upset to get a big surprise bill. I had shoulder surgery at other facility with no out of pocket."
"I have traveled to 6 different locations for my chemotherapy infusions in the last 5 years throughout the nation. I have ALWAYS had the same insurance company that has NEVER had any issues. Without any type of reasoning. I have now paid $500 of my OWN money before my (every 6- week) $8,760 infusions, upfront. Or “I wouldn’t bad be able to receive them.” Being told I will see that “refund”. NEVER have had that happen, néw insurance or not. The “scheduler” refused to acknowledge my insurance was indeed active, which resulted in me being over a week late for my chemotherapy. She REFUSED to call my insurance company and verify authorization to my doctor to approve my IV/ infusion. I fell VERY ill from the stress of dealing with the front office. Calling them week after week … never should EVER be a thing. Falling out of remission for the first time in 3 years. NO sense of urgency dealing with extensively ill autoimmune patients as myself, and / or cancer patients. I feel terrible for the medical staff that get their job done & are truly God’s grace to their patients. I lost 4.5 years of my young 20’s because of LAZY receptionists. Simply because they can’t follow through with their job title. Advice: find a new receptionist before your entire sector is in court for the next 10 years!!!"
